Mental Health Ireland (MHI) is a national voluntary organisation
promoting mental health, wellbeing & recovery using a process called
coproduction to ensure that the voices of the end user are heard at
all stages of programme development, delivery, and evaluation. Our
network of volunteer-led Mental Health Associations (MHAs) active
throughout the country is supported by a dynamic staff team including
Development Officers.

Our National Head Office is based in Dun Laoghaire, with **Apply on

in promoting mental health and wellbeing and supporting people in
recovery from significant mental health challenges, is funded by the
HSE and supported through public donations.

achieve this through evidence-based information provision, resources,
campaigns, training, events, bursaries, and our support of Recovery

right to access the supports of our choosing when and where we need
them and the right to be supported in recovery to live healthy and
meaningful lives.

Working as part of the national team, the Education and Training
Coordinator will work a five-day week Monday – Friday with
occasional out of hours commitments dependent on training /fundraising
/ partnership events or campaigns.

The essential role of the Education and Training Coordinator is to
deliver on the core objectives of Mental Health Ireland’s Strategy
– Mental Health for All – Hope, Strength & Action. This will
include supporting the establishment, operation and development of
sustainable programmes, sponsorships, and partnerships.

The post holder will work closely with Mental Health Promotion,
Fundraising and Corporate Engagement teams, as part of an symbiotic
department, and work with communications, research, and operations
workstreams to help realise the strategic priorities of Mental Health
Ireland with sustainability a key focus.

The post holder will lead the Education and Training workstream to
enable it to provide a quality assured range of training and education
programmes that are co-produced and co-designed to ensure that people
have access to high quality training inputs that will widen the
knowledge base on mental health and by doing so increase awareness and
help to reduce stigmatisation. They will build, maintain, and improve
relationships with community partnerships and corporate organisations
through the design, delivery, and evaluation of quality assured
training.

The Education and Training Coordinator will facilitate training in
partnership with Development Officers and/or Managers and/or other MHI
staff members depending on the training needs. They will ensure that
an up-to-date training needs assessment is in place for the workstream
and ensure that all training and education programmes are kept
up-to-date and in line with any strategic or legislative changes that
take place.

The post holder will line manage one Training Administrator who will
work with the Coordinator to ensure that the training booking system
is fit for purpose and that all training enquiries are dealt with in
an efficient and proactive manner.

The post holder will have annual monetary and non-monetary KPIs for
maintaining and growing the existing workstream demands and will
innovate to secure new bookings, and education partnerships in order
to reach populations in line with strategic objectives.

They will participate in the coproduction and development of projects
and programme proposals in order to maximise and ensure their
suitability for external funding support. They will support the
training elements of work within other workstreams within the
organisation such as mental health promotion etc.

They will champion the continued adoption of a quality assured
training culture for Mental Health Ireland.

They will ensure that we are delivering training in an ethical,
transparent, accessible, inclusive and sustainable way.
