ABOUT OUR SERVICE

Poppintree Early Education Centre (PEEC) is a community-based
pre-school service, operating from a modern and well-equipped
purpose-built setting in Poppintree, Ballymun. PEEC provides high
quality full-day and part-time early childhood care and education to
children from 6 months to 4 years. We use the High Scope Preschool
Curriculum, aligned with Aistear to provide rich early education and
care experiences that foster children?s creativity, confidence, and
independence. We offer high quality environments, engaging early
learning experiences and deeply connected interactions that support
children?s development and early learning.

JOB PURPOSE

Reporting to and directed by the Board of Management, the manager will
lead a team of dedicated early childhood educators and auxiliary staff
to ensure high quality education and care for children attending our
services. The manager has day to day responsibility for financial
sustainability, staff support and supervision and high standards
aligned with the regulatory and quality guidelines relevant to the
setting.

A FULL JOB DESCRIPTION, STAFF HANDBOOK AND INDUCTION TRAINING WILL BE
PROVIDED TO THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

KEY ROLES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

* Operational leadership and management of the setting under the
direction and guidance of the Board of Management.
* Ensuring the Board of Management are provided with clear and
accurate information regarding the setting and staff.
* Respectful, engaged and ethical leadership of all staff working in
the setting
* Commitment to children?s rights, in particular participation,
access and inclusion of children with additional needs and those at
risk of poverty and social exclusion
* Responsibility for leadership in the planning, implementation and
review of quality early education and care experiences aligned Aistear
* Promotion of PEEC as a learning organisation, committed to fair
and equitable supports for all team members with regular supervision,
opportunities for development and compliance with employment law
* Adhering to key policies, practices, regulatory requirements and
guidelines that ensure children?s safety and well-being, including
Children First and Early Years Services Regulations.
* Management and administration of all relevant funding streams
* Working in partnership with parents, guardians and extended family
members to promote equity, inclusion and children?s learning and
development.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS AND PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

It is desirable that candidates hold a Level 7 (degree) qualification
in early childhood care and education. However, the company will
consider applications from those holding a minimum Level 6
qualification on the National Framework of Qualifications (QQI) in
Early Childhood Care and Education.

EXPERIENCE AND PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES

_ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:_

* Ability to respond to the leadership and direction of a voluntary
Board of Management/Directors to ensure high-quality ECEC provision
for children and families
* Proven leadership in managing an ECEC setting to ensure high
quality care and education for children and support for families
* Skills and expertise in effective and ethical team leadership,
staff supervision and professional development
* Experience of effective financial planning and management of an
ECEC setting, including administration of government funding
programmes (NCS)
* Adherence to relevant Legislation, Regulations and Guidelines;

* Ability to engage in reflective practice and work collaboratively
with other professionals, organisations and services

_DESIRABLE CRITERIA:_

* Awareness of and commitment to the standards of the Charities
Governance Code
* Experience in the planning and delivery of family supports such as
parenting programmes, trauma-informed practice and restorative
practice
* Evidence and experience of engagement in quality initiatives that
promote innovative practice in early childhood education and care
