Poppintree Early Education Centre is a community-based not-for-profit

ABOUT OUR SERVICE

Poppintree Early Education Centre (PEEC) is a community-based
pre-school service, operating from a modern and well-equipped
purpose-built setting in Poppintree, Ballymun.

PEEC provides high quality early childhood care and education to
children from 6 months to 4 years. We use the High Scope Preschool
Curriculum, aligned with Aistear to provide rich early education and
care experiences that foster children?s creativity, confidence, and
independence. We offer high quality environments, engaging early
learning experiences and deeply connected interactions that support
children?s development and early learning.

Our team is made up of enthusiastic and deeply committed individuals
that enjoy working in partnership with one another, parents and other
professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for children and
families.

JOB PURPOSE

Employed by the Board of Management and working under the supervision
and direction of the Manager, Room Leaders, develop and deliver
exciting educational learning experiences and connected care that
optimises children?s well-being and development.

A FULL JOB DESCRIPTION, STAFF HANDBOOK AND INDUCTION TRAINING WILL BE
PROVIDED TO SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

_KEY ROLES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:_

* Leadership in team planning, implementation and review of quality
early education and care experiences aligned Aistear
* Coordination of support and supervision meetings within each team
and provide the Manager with relevant information and action plans
* Creation and maintenance of a welcoming, safe and enriching
learning environment
* Development of secure, comforting and responsive relationships
with children and other staff members
* Respectful and engaged team work with all parents, guardians,
staff and associated professionals
* Contributing to discussion, staff training and service planning
that supports children?s learning and development
* Working in partnership with parents, guardians and extended family
members to promote equity, inclusion and children?s learning and
development.
* Adhering to key policies, practices and guidelines that ensure
children?s safety and well-being, including Children First and Early
Years Services Regulations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS AND PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION

* A recognised qualification with a MINIMUM LEVEL 7 (DEGREE) on the
National Framework of Qualifications (QQI) in Early Childhood Care and
Education.

EXPERIENCE AND PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES

* Awareness of and commitment to community-based early childhood
provision and family support.
* Experience of room and team leadership in an early childhood
setting
* Commitment to high-quality, equitable and inclusive education and
care experiences for children
* Experience in creating exciting and engaging learning experiences
that are grounded in Aistear and S?olta
* Knowledge of Child Protection Legislation and Guidelines (Children
First Guidelines)
* Dedication to team work and respectful professional relationships
* Flexibility, enthusiasm and adaptability in the workplace
* Ability to engage in reflective practice
* Willingness to collaboratively with others, including the
direction from the Manager and Board of Management.
