disease and stroke, and to support and care for those living with

OVERALL RESPONSIBILITY

High blood pressure is a major risk factor for heart disease and
stroke but it is often symptomless. The Mobile Health Unit (MHU)
offers free confidential heart health checks to the public including
blood pressure and pulse checks which are provided by our health check
nurses in the unit?s private consultation rooms. It travels
nationwide specifically focusing on disadvantaged and hard to reach
groups, visiting various locations in communities such as farmer?s
marts and the Men?s Sheds.

The driver of the Mobile Health Unit will act as an ambassador for the
Irish Heart Foundation interacting with the public and working as part
of the Mobile Health Unit team. He/she will be responsible for
arranging secure parking when out on site, managing the queues for
those awaiting health checks and managing maintenance of the Unit.
This work will involve travel and overnight stays across Ireland.

This role would suit a person with excellent communication skills who
enjoys meeting new people from diverse backgrounds and who is willing
to opportunistically inform members of the public about the Mobile
Health Unit service and the wider Irish Heart Foundation?s work. The
service typically runs Monday to Friday with occasional weekends.

preventable heart disease.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

* Represent the Irish Heart Foundation in a professional manner,
proactively. Engaging with site contacts and clients. Queue management
as required.
* Drive the MHU to nationwide locations according to the assigned
schedule.
* Ensure that the MHU is always parked safely.
* Ensure safe access to/from the MHU for the public.
* Ensure steps and power point supply are securely set up for the
MHU.
* Responsible for the service and maintenance of the vehicle ?
lighting, air conditioning, heating and cleaning when required.
* Stock replenishment of MHU ? Information leaflets and other
materials.
* Responsible for safe storage of equipment on vehicle during
transit.
* Any other duties assigned by manager, as required.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Full clean driving licence.
* Fluent English speaker?
* Must be over **Apply on the website** years of age, for insurance
* At least **Apply on the website** years? driving experience
including on national and rural roads.
* Previous experience of working with the public is essential
* Previous experience of driving large/commercial vehicle
advantageous.
* Proven experience of national route planning/use of navigation
application to reach locations within required timelines.
* Ability to work calmly in a busy environment engaging clients and
managing queues.
* Good organisational skills; with an ability able to work
to?deadlines.
* Experience adhering too and knowledge of health and safety
practices in the work place
