OFFALY DOMESTIC VIOLENCE SUPPORT SERVICE CLG

ODVSS was established in **Apply on the website** and provides support
to victims of intimate partner violence and all family violence. The
service offers an array of supports including one to one consultation
supports, court accompaniment, service accompaniment, helpline, text
support line, service accompaniment, support groups, outreach,
counselling, play therapy, **Apply on the website** hour monitored
safety alarms, training and educational programmes, crisis support,
life coaching, advocacy and awareness campaigns. ODVSS is funded by
Tusla and the Department of Justice & Equality. Post is dependent on
the continuation of core funding.

WORKER

OFFALY.

PURPOSE OF THIS ROLE

The purpose of this post is to provide support, advice, advocacy, and
information to victims of domestic abuse who are currently or have in
the past experienced gender-based violence. The post holder will also
be responsible to support clients in need of emergency accommodation
due to domestic abuse, in relation to ODVSS safe house provision. The
post holder will liaise, make referrals, and provide advocacy for
clients with relevant agencies, services and organisation in Offaly
which can provide access to accommodation, supports and benefits for
clients. To develop and maintain contacts with refuges, local
authority, housing association and bodies, and private section housing
sector and develop ODVSS Outreach provision around the County of
Offaly.

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

* Recognized Third level qualification in social care, social work,
community development or related subject
* Previous experience of advocacy in housing/homelessness sector, or
community support services.
* Management of accommodation for service users and safety planning
* Knowledge of Children First policies and practice
* Commitment to equality and human rights and service user
empowerment
* Own car and clean driving licence
