PATIENT SERVICES COORDINATOR

TITLE: Patient Services Coordinator

REPORTS TO: Patient Services Manager

LOCATION: Based in Dublin. Initially remote, possibly hybrid of remote
and office, as dictated by Asthma Society remote working policy.

THE ROLE

The post of Patient Services Coordinator in the Asthma Society is an
exciting and fulfilling role that is integral to our core operations.
The successful applicant will hold a senior role within the Patient
Services Team (PST) with responsibility for planning, delivering and
reporting on innovative patient-centred services and health promotion
projects that are crucial to the vision and mission of the
organisation. This post involves developing and maintaining strong
working relationships with healthcare professionals, funders, partners
and other relevant stakeholders to ensure the Asthma Society meets the
needs of people with asthma. He/she will work closely with the PST,
our dedicated nursing and physiotherapy team and our Medical Advisory
Group in striving for the highest quality standards in our patient
services. We are seeking someone who is adept at utilising digital
communications ? webinars, online groups and social media ? to
educate and empower people with asthma, their families/carers and
their healthcare providers in achieving optimal asthma management.

MAIN DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES

* Reporting to the Patient Services Manager, coordinate the
high-quality delivery of the Asthma and COPD Advicelines (delivered in
conjunction with COPD Support Ireland) and the Beating Breathlessness
WhatsApp messaging service.
* Expand take-up of our nurse-led patient services among people with
asthma and their families and carers through promotion of the services
to patients, relevant healthcare professionals groups, HSE staff and
other stakeholders.
* Working closely with the Communications Officer and the Patient
Services Administrator, develop and deliver a range of digital
communications among people with asthma ? in particular within
socially disadvantaged groups ? their families/carers and their
healthcare providers to promote asthma management and improve health
outcomes.
* Monitor, evaluate and report against agreed KPIs on the delivery
of Asthma Society patient services to the management team and relevant
funders.
* Identify and develop appropriate channels for distributing health
promotion information in collaboration with the Communications
Officer.
* Assist in the development and use of quality standards, monitoring
and evaluation methods for health promotion projects.
* Work in partnership with our partners, community-based
organisations and relevant agencies to develop and deliver a range of
evidence-based programmes, resources and materials to respond to the
specific needs of identified target groups.
* Work with the Asthma Society?s external website and IT providers
to ensure patient services are efficiently run and comply with GDPR
guidelines.
* Promote and participate in strategic and operational planning and
foster close collaboration with advocacy, research and communications
colleagues.

SELECTION CRITERIA

_ESSENTIAL:_

* Degree or professional qualification in Health Promotion,
operations/programme management or related area, or equivalent
experience
* Demonstrable experience in successful programme and project
management, including monitoring, evaluation, and reporting on
outcomes and impact
* Excellent organisational, administration and relationship
management skills
* Experience in or knowledge of human rights/social
inclusion/equality/participatory approaches, including an
understanding of the determinants of health
* Excellent IT skills and a proven track record in utilisation of
digital communications to engage key audiences
* An ability to think strategically and work for strategic change
* Ability to effectively collaborate with statutory, voluntary and
community organisations to maintain and build partnerships
* A commitment to building health promotion capacity and skills in
others
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and an ability to
think creatively
* Proactive and flexible approach required
* The successful candidate must be willing and able to travel as
required and to work outside of normal working hours on occasion

_DESIRABLE_

* Postgraduate Diploma/ Masters in a relevant field
* Experience in the health sector in Ireland
* Experience of working with disadvantaged groups
