Lecturer or Assistant Professor in Veterinary Anaesthesia
This is a permanent post as Lecturer/Assistant Professor in the
Section of Equine Clinical Studies, Diagnostic Imaging and Anaesthesia
based in the School of Veterinary Medicine, UCD. The appointee will be
expected to significantly enhance the existing team in Veterinary
Anaesthesia.

Applicants must hold a degree in veterinary medicine registrable with
the Veterinary Council of Ireland or a specialist degree with which an
application for limited registration with the Veterinary Council (see
) could be made. The successful applicant must be an experienced
veterinary anaesthetist and have attained (or be eligible and willing
to sit for) a specialist qualification in Veterinary Anaesthesia
(ECVAA, DVA, ACVA).

The successful candidate will play an important role in the ongoing
development of the Veterinary Anaesthesia discipline within the UCD
Veterinary Hospital. In particular, the candidate will participate
fully in and develop undergraduate teaching, including clinical
teaching, in postgraduate residency supervision and training, and in
the Veterinary Anaesthesia service of both small and large animals
provided by the discipline in the Hospital.

It is also expected that the successful candidate will participate in
original research within the discipline, leading to publications in
peer-reviewed journals and foster collaborations, both nationally and
internationally.

It is expected that clinical service and related instruction will
contribute approximately % of the appointee&#**Apply on the
website**;s effort with the remainder being devoted to teaching,
research and other scholarly activity. The appointee will participate
in the out-of-hours rota of the discipline. Lecturer/Assistant
