JOB TITLE: MiWOW Outreach & Support Worker

REPORTS TO: CEO

New Communities Partnership (NCP) is an independent national network

with outreach to other cities.

THE POSITION
New Communities Partnership is seeking to employ a qualified and
experienced Migrant Women Outreach & Support Worker on a Full-time
basis to assist in the delivery of the MiWOW project plan.

- To deliver MiWOW Action Plan targeting ethnic minority women and NCP
members
- To organise training, information provision, social enterprise,
Employment, addressing inequalities, accessing employment.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POST INCLUDE:??????

* Excellent communication and report writing skills including
* Good interpersonal skills, including ability to liaise with a wide
range of contacts and build and maintain effective working
relationships
* Highly motivated, committed and energised by work around equality
& diversity, a self-starter
* Ability to engage and liaise effectively with potential and
current trainees and trainers, including ability to communicate key
messages (both verbally & written).?
* Demonstrated experience in working in anti-racism and
Interculturalism
* A strong commitment to community development / human rights and
equality

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE MUST HAVE:

* Degree in Community Development and related qualifications
* Minimum of 3 years post-qualification professional experience
* Proven track record of working with communities of
interest/minority groups using community development approaches.
* Experience working as part of a team and on own initiative
* Excellent communication skills - both written and oral and
excellent report writing skills
* Good working knowledge of Microsoft office and other relevant
computer applications
* Experience of policy work, networking / interagency working within
the community development sector
* Commitment to Equality, Human Rights and Diversity
* Clear understanding and analysis of migration and integration
issues and national infrastructure, including current issues

SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS

* To increase the active participation of migrant women in the Irish
labour market
* To support and empower migrant women not in employment to reach
their potential.
* To provide a proactive and positive jobs-seeking process for
migrant women.
* To advocate for changes in existing policies or the creation of
new policies on migrant women?s issues, related to the labour
market.
* To contribute in the efforts of migrant women and migrant
descendant women securing or promoting employment.
* To promote empathy, solidarity and sorority among migrant women
and migrant
* descendant women during their career progression.
* To expand migrant women and migrant descendant women?s networks
across the Irish society.
* To promote the acceptance and validation of foreign qualifications
in Ireland.
* To raise awareness of multicultural acceptance within HR and
recruitment teams.
* To promote the relevance of mentoring and role models for and by
professional
* migrant women and migrant descendant women.
* To empower Mi-WOW participants to become mentors and support
others on their professional journeys.

DESIRABLE

* Ability to speak more than one language (Romanian, Russian,
Portuguese, Arabic, Swahili, French, )
* Community Development qualifications and experience
* Sound knowledge of the Migrant sector in Ireland and experience in
working with relevant agencies and stakeholders in the field of
employment
* Knowledge of Migrant women issues and current policies in place
concerning members of new communities in Ireland
* Ability to apply p-project management and organizational skills to
variety of tasks; demonstrating flexibility and problem solving skills
* Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in similar role
