POSITION TITLE: RELIEF PANEL

PROGRAMME: Youth Services South Dublin and North Wicklow

WORK LOCATION: The position of Relief Worker requires you to provide
cover throughout Youth Services in the South Dublin area. These
services include: Dun Laoghaire and Dundrum.

WORKING HOURS: You will be placed on a Relief Panel and may on
occasion be asked to provide cover for short term planned absence such
as covering annual leave, training, sick leave or unexpected absence.
Crosscare will endeavour to give as much notice as possible prior to

SALARY: The hourly rate of pay for Relief Staff is ?**Apply on the
website**.**Apply on the website** per hour. Wages will be paid
monthly in arrears by credit transfer to the bank account of your
choice, after deduction of taxes and other statutory deductions.

REPORTS TO: Youth Service Manager.

ROLE PURPOSE:

Complete tasks as defined by the Youth Service Manager/Team Leader
which includes engaging young people in a youth work process.
Candidates will provide suitable youth work interventions to
facilitate personal development, promote pro social behaviour and
improve long term prospects for young people.

THE ROLE:

* To engage with and build professional trusting relationships with
young people, treating them with dignity and respect, and working
within the values of Crosscare.
* To work effectively as part of a team and being open to reasonable
requests from Youth Service Manager/Team Leader in order to ensure
effective working relationships
* To work within the policies of Crosscare and the standard
operating procedures of the project
* To perform all the administrative duties relating to the role in
order to ensure that the project runs smoothly
* To engage young people in a youth work process.

QUALIFICATION/SKILLS REQUIREMENTS

_EDUCATIONAL:_

* Be in possession of a relevant 3rd Level qualification in Youth
Work or equivalent.
* Some experience of working with vulnerable and disadvantaged
groups/young people, ideally within a youth work setting.

_PERSONAL SKILLS:_

* A commitment to social justice and to treating people with dignity
and respect
* An understanding of the principles of teamwork and the ability to
work on your own initiative as well as part of a team
* A positive, can do attitude is essential in this role
* Excellent communication skills, IT and report writing
* Flexibility, good time management and a professional manner
