TITLE: FUNDRAISING MANAGER

REPORTS TO: CEO

LOCATION: Office based, candidate will work from home initially, as

based (Asthma Society office).

HOURS: Full Time, occasional flexibility may be required

JOB PURPOSE:

THE ASTHMA SOCIETY IRELAND (ASI) IS ON A MISSION TO END ASTHMA DEATHS

ALL PEOPLE WITH ASTHMA, EMPOWERING THEM TO CONTROL THE CONDITION AND
PROVIDING HEALTH PROMOTION PROGRAMMES. WE LEARN TOGETHER AND
COLLABORATE WITH HEALTHCARE, RESEARCH AND EDUCATION PROFESSIONALS TO
IMPROVE OUR UNDERSTANDING OF HOW ASTHMA WORKS AND HOW TO COMBAT IT.

We need someone with passion and purpose to join our organisation and
lead the development of our fundraising strategy, with a focus on
building sustainable committed giving income and maximising
opportunities for people to engage and support our work.

THE ROLE:

This is a key appointment in the senior management team at Asthma
Society Ireland. The new Fundraising Manager will be an experienced
fundraiser who has integrated digital as a cornerstone of the
fundraising strategy and has experience in delivering an individual
giving programme.

You will deliver a donor development strategy to build up a
sustainable income base - to include proposition development, campaign
development, recruitment, retention and ongoing communications with
individual donors.

The ASI has a number of committed corporate partners, so you will work
closely with the CEO to maximise opportunities to engage staff and
public around our impact partnerships. You will also lead out on trust
and foundation applications to generate new funding for the Society.
You will build a strong integrated fundraising element into our
national campaign ?Asthma Awareness Week? to support our vital
Adviceline and outreach services.

Asthma Society Ireland played a vital role during COVID and has a
strong and committed board, a small but supportive management team, a
strong membership base and we are well positioned to scale our impact.
To succeed in this role, you must have previous experience managing
individual giving with exposure to national campaigns, have the CRM
skills to interrogate data and build insights to inform strategy.

STRATEGIC PLANNING AND BUDGETING

* Lead the strategic development of the fundraising strategy to
diversify income streams and deliver on ambitions of the Asthma
Society.
* In conjunction with the Finance Manager, input into the financial
planning cycle providing forecasts aligned to plans and reforecasting
as required.
* Deliver on the fundraising monthly and annual revenue targets,
devising alternative plans if KPIs are not being delivered.
* Create fundraising investment cases with cost / benefit scenarios
to deliver on targets.

CAMPAIGN DEVELOPMENT & DONOR ACQUISITION

* Working closely with the CEO, the communications, advocacy manager
and the health promotion team, develop multi-stage acquisition
strategies to develop overall regular giving programme that acquires
and keeps donors over the lifecycle (to include direct marketing,
telephone fundraising, advertising and digital fundraising).
* Build a strong integrated fundraising element into our national
?Asthma Awareness Week? to support our vital Adviceline and
outreach services.
* Digitise the community fundraising element of our national
campaign to ensure income and engagement targets are met.
* Draft compelling trust and foundation funding applications,
enabling the Society to continue and expand its work in
awareness-building, advocacy and patient services.

DONOR DEVELOPMENT

* Develop a strong committed giving value proposition for our
membership base to develop sustainable income source
* Plan key communications to existing supporters to further engage
them in the mission of the Asthma Society and encourage higher level
giving over the donor lifecycle.
* Develop engaging fundraising appeal propositions from concept to
delivery to highlight the work of our services ? project manage from
proposition development, segmenting the data to post campaign
analysis.
* Work with Communications team to map out donor journeys, develop
targeted communications plans to develop integrated campaigns and
proactively communicate and remind donors about planned and legacy
giving.
* Test and develop digital fundraising campaigns ? be the voice of
fundraising as part of the upgrade of the ASI website.
* Report on donor development KPIs, campaign responses and results.

DOES THIS SOUND LIKE YOU?

* Degree level or equivalent qualification in marketing, business or
fundraising
* Proven, extensive experience of direct marketing and
donor/customer development strategies

* Database experience and experience of segmentation, targeting and
analysing results.
* Budget responsibility and agency and third-party management
experience
* Strong creative and writing ability and a strong attention to
detail
* Professional communication skills - excellent presentation skills
* Ability to work in collaboration with small team, while
negotiating and building internal and external relationships
* Knowledge of the charity market, data protection and fundraising
codes of practice and the environment in which ASI works
