ABOUT THE ROLE:

Family Carers Ireland wish to make the following appointments;

ROLE: Quality & Safety Officer

REPORTING TO: Quality & Safety Manager

LOCATION: Family Carers Ireland, Market Square, Tullamore, Co. Offaly.
In line with Covid-**Apply on the website** guidelines, the successful
candidates may also be required to work from their home in the short
term.

CONTRACT DURATION: Permanent

HOURS PER WEEK: Full time - **Apply on the website** per week. The
normal working hours are 9 am to 5.**Apply on the website** pm (Monday
to Thursday) and 9 am to 5 pm (Friday).

This role will provide support to the Quality and Safety function
within Family Carers Ireland. The purpose of the role is to embed a
culture of continuous quality improvement within the Organisation by
streamlining current systems and supporting their implementation
within the Organisation. The role will also provide support to
colleagues in developing quality improvement programmes at local level
and reviewing / monitoring the progress within the Organisation. The
individual will also communicate with and provide reports to external
agencies in relation to quality within the Organisation.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Quality & Safety Officer will be responsible for the following:

TASKS

* Performing a range of duties including the provision of support to
the Quality and Safety Manager in the following areas:

* Direction and support to centres with the interpretation &
implementation of legislation and standards;
* National analysis / trending and management of the
Organisation?s Incidents, Complaints & Safeguarding Concerns;

* Liaison with local and national HSE offices in relation to the
management/close out of:

* Complaints;
* Incidents.

* Liaison with local FCI offices on management/close out of
incidents/complaints
* National monitoring of safeguarding action plans submitted to the
HSE Safeguarding and Protection Team/Tulsa
* Liaison with the local offices on Safeguarding compliance;
* Completion of Internal Audits & provision of support to staff
completing internal audits;
* National analysis, monitoring and trending of internal and
external audit report findings;

* Q&S Administrative Support around monitoring the management of the
following:

* Training Certification
* Staff HR Documentation
* ID Badges

* Completion and analysis of Customer Satisfaction Surveys and
follow up on issues raised;

* Monitor completion and planning /trending of:

* FCI Client Monitoring Calls;
* Staff Competency Assessments;
* Care Plan and Risk Assessments.

* Respond to queries in a timely manner and assist staff with any
enquiries;
* Compile reports for internal meetings as required;
* Promote a culture of continuous quality improvement in the
organisation;
* Act as designate for the Q&S Manager at internal and external
meetings.

SYSTEMS AND DATABASES

* Data entry onto various software systems (Family Carers Ireland
Software).

PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT

* Participate in the Organisation?s Performance Management
programme.

POLICIES & PROCEDURES

* Adhere to the Organisation?s policies and procedures.

OTHER DUTIES

* Undertake other duties as may be required and assigned by the
Organisation from time to time.

ROLE CRITERIA:

The ideal candidate will have the following shills and attributes:

* Must be educated to a Diploma Level in a Heath Care/Quality &
Safety related field;
* At least 1 years? experience working within a Quality & Safety
Department;
* Previous experience working in the Homecare/Social Care sector an
advantage;
* Experience working with IT Information systems is essential;
* Advanced MS Office skills, especially in MS Word, Excel,
PowerPoint and Outlook;
* Fluency in English; written and verbal;
* Excellent Communicator;
* Strong facilitation and presentation skills
* Skilled in Project Planning/Management;
* An ability to multitask and have excellent attention to detail;
* Exceptional organisation and planning skills with the ability to
manage multiple projects to deadlines and keep stakeholders informed;
* Flexibility in attitude and approach to the job;
* Strong and pleasant character;
* A willingness to help out other colleagues;
* A strong work ethic is essential;
* Full drivers licence with access to own car;
* Ability to meet internal and external deadlines;
* Awareness of confidentially and sensitive nature of the work and
ability to work in a highly confidential environment;
* A willingness to learn and a desire to implement a culture of
continuous quality improvement within the organisation;
* Must be a self-starter.
