WHAT YOU WILL DO:

Sun Life is building out its process automation capabilities, and
expanding a US-based team to identify, configure, deploy and support
bots and other solutions that can automate manual tasks, improve the
client experience and allow our employees to focus on higher-value
activities.

Sun Life is seeking an experienced, proactive and energetic Associate
Director. The successful candidate will lead a high-performing team in
delivering and supporting robotic process automations. Reporting to
the Head of Robotics & Digital Enablement, the Process Automation
Associate Director will be accountable for solution innovation as well
as providing both technical & people leadership.

The Process Automation Associate Director is a member of the Robotics
& Digital Enablement team within US Group Benefits Client Services.
The role is responsible for delivering agile process automation
solutions across the US businesses, using a variety of tools and
technologies.

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES:
* Propose, build, deploy and support process automation solutions
across US business areas
* Manage a team of process automation Business Systems Analysts
(BSAs), Technical Consultants and Support Analysts to successfully
deliver high-value new projects, as well as support solutions that
were previously deployed to business users
* Collaborate closely with process improvement consultants to
provide feedback and architectural recommendations for new automation
opportunities
* Coordinate requirements, design, configuration, testing,
deployment and production support activities for more complex US
robotics automation projects; partner closely with Sun Life?s Asia
Intelligent Automation Center of Excellence (COE) to coordinate
configuration for lower complexity projects
* Ensure the team is optimizing its output without compromising on
quality, and that projects are delivered on time and within budget
* Identify new tools and technologies that will enable the team to
deliver low-cost, high-value automation solutions; help team members
quickly adapt these tools
* Coordinate team efforts to access and analyze data to help the
team identify attractive automation opportunities
* Partner closely with the US IT organization, Compliance and
business risk officers to ensure new solutions are properly evaluated,
supported and governed, and assess how future releases will impact
deployed solutions
* Design and oversee a robust production support model for deployed
solutions that prevents disruption to end users
* Provide budget oversight of the program to ensure that costs are
aligned with estimates and allow us to achieve our target ROIs
* Oversee vendor relationships and contracts to ensure strong value
and support are delivered within budgets
* Establish credibility and maintain strong relationships with key
business partners, and help educate the organization on how to
identify high-value automation opportunities

* Demonstrated experience of driving productivity through the design
and development of process automation tools is required
* Strong technical background and experience leading agile
application development teams is required
* Experience within the insurance industry would be an asset
* Periodic travel may be required
* Some project work may be required outside of regular office hours
to support critical time lines and deliverables, as well as
collaboration with Sun Life teams in other regions

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND SKILLS: 
* Bachelor Degree
* 7+ years of relevant experience
* Experience working with Pega Robotics, UI Path, Blue Prism or
other larger vendor robotics automation vendor software platforms is
required
* Knowledge of .Net / Visual Studio required
* Knowledge of C# / JavaScript highly desired
* Agile Scrum certified
* Knowledge of Lean methodology and best practices
