Windmill Therapeutic Training Unit provides support for c **Apply on
the website** adults with mild to moderate intellectual disability
through our Day Services and Independent Living Programmes. Windmill
is managed by the Head of Windmill, who reports to the Board of
Windmill. The service is provided through the management team and c
**Apply on the website** staff. We are based in Wexford Town just off
South Main Street and serve people from Wexford and the surrounding
area.

JOB TITLE

NEW DIRECTIONS CO-ORDINATING MANAGER (MANAGER) / FULL-TIME, PERMANENT

JOB OVERVIEW

This position will involve providing leadership and management in the
provision of services and supports. The person appointed will be
responsible for the coordination of person-centred supports,
supervision of staff teams and the day-to-day logistical management of
the premises and transport. The Manager will ensure that each
individual is respected, treated with dignity, and supported to make
personal choices and decisions on a daily basis. If you are a leader,
a creative thinker, innovator and problem solver, this role could be
for you.

The successful candidate will report to the Head of Windmill.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

* Manage day to day services to ensure delivery of Service in line
with Windmill?s Mission, Vision, Core Values and Strategic Plans.
* Promote and nurture the Therapeutic (Rogerian) person-centred
approach to service delivery in line with the principles of HSE Policy
for adult day service _New Directions _and UN Convention of Human
Rights.
* Support staff to carry out their work in a manner that is
empowering to individuals.
* Ensure the rigorous implementation of the Protection of Vulnerable
Adults Policy.
* Provide leadership in the delivery of the service, have capacity
to think strategically, and to innovate where possible to further
develop the service to benefit the people who access our service.
* Lead, supervise, coach and develop the staff team.
* In support of those who access our service develop relationships
with families/carers, advocates, wider community and liaise with
professionals and agencies in the further development of the service.
* Contribute as an active member of the Management Team to the
overall management of our service.
* Ensure the achievement of the appropriate Health and Quality
Standards.
* Drive an inclusion and equality-based agenda.
* Be flexible and able to adapt in changing situations

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS

* 3rd Level qualification in health/social care.
* Experience of leading and managing a team.
* Understanding and experience of the therapeutic relationship.
* Strong reflective practice and clear theory of practice in
supporting people with a disability.
* Have a good understanding of and be committed to implementing
social policy New Directions and the New Directions interim standards.
* Experience and competence in providing and directing Positive
Behavioural Support approaches.
* Experience and good capacity working with vulnerable adults.
* Experience and a good capacity supporting people who present with
behaviours that challenge.
* Strong communication, interpersonal skills and the ability to work
effectively with a wide range of people i.e. all stakeholders.
* Excellent reporting and administrative skills including a good
working knowledge of computer programmes e.g. Microsoft Office, Online
reporting.
* Full clean Driving licence and willingness to drive as part of
duties.

HEALTH

Candidates for and any person holding the office must be fully
competent and capable of undertaking the duties attached to the office
and be in a state of health such as would indicate a reasonable
prospect of ability to render regular and efficient service.
