1:1 SUPPORT WORKERS - DAY SERVICES

The MooreHaven Centre was established in **Apply on the website** to
provide day services for people with intellectual disabilities (mild
to moderate) in Tipperary Town and the surrounding areas in Counties
Tipperary and Limerick. These services have grown significantly and
now encompass Day Activation, Supported Work/Employment, Day Services,
Training Programme and Residential Services. The Centre caters for

promote and support independent living and community integration,
personal development and work opportunities for people attending the
Centre.

We are currently recruiting a 1:1 support worker to support a number
of service users in their Day Service Programme to become as
independent as possible in daily life-skills, working on individual
programmes and goals as identified through the PCP process and with a
multi-disciplinary approach.

The person appointed should be flexible in their approach to service
provision & should have the ability to work as a member of a team.
He/she will be required to take an active part in ensuring that the
needs of the service user(s) are being met. The person appointed will
be working on their own with support provided by the Senior Supervisor
& Day Services Manager. This is a multi-faceted role in that the
support worker will also from time to time have to assist the
instructor with the supervision of other service users and support
them in their class activity.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

* Leaving certificate.
* Minimum Level 5 QQI Qualification in Health / Social Care or
Equivalent
* Minimum 6 month working in a similar role w/adults with an
intellectual disability.
* A good level of administrative, report writing & IT skills
* A full clean Irish/EU Driving Licence is essential.
* Garda Vetting Clearance.
* Knowledge of New Directions

A strong commitment to caring and an empathetic understanding of those
with an intellectual disability are essential attributes for this
role. The successful candidate will need great people skills, be
flexible and have experience with rapid and complex changing work
environments.
