LOCATION OF POST:

Currently there are two permanent vacancies:

* Cork South Community Work Department (St. Finbarr?s Hospital)
* Cork North Community Work Department (St. Mary?s Road).

A panel may be formed as a result of this campaign from which current
and future permanent and specified purpose vacancies of full-time or
part-time duration in Cork Kerry Community Healthcare may be filled

DETAILS OF SERVICE:

The Community Work Departments within Cork Kerry Community Healthcare:

* Work to develop innovative programmes which reflect the many
factors that determine the health of individuals and communities.
* Are concerned with developing a collective response to needs
within communities, including those experiencing social exclusion.
* Promote inclusive ways of working in order to secure concrete
improvements in quality of life for those communities.
* Focus on empowerment, user participation, collective action,
partnership and inter-agency working, being respectful of individuals
and their communities, links between poverty and health inequalities,
promotion of social inclusion and accountability.
* Seek to support, guide and strengthen the capacities of
communities for positive health and equitable health outcomes.
* Support the work of all HSE divisions i.e. Primary Care, Social
Care, Mental Health and Health & Wellbeing.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: Reports to the Specialist Social Inclusion
(Cork Kerry Community Healthcare) or Designated Officer

PURPOSE OF THE POST:

* Management of Community Work Services in the designated Community
Work Department in accordance with agreed national policy, standards,
protocols and legislation.
* Management of the HSE Service Level Arrangements, Grant Aid
Agreements and HSE National Lottery Grant Applications
* Effective management and efficient use of available resources
(financial and personnel).
* To support the Social Inclusion Specialist by contributing to the
Strategic/Operational Planning process.
* Support the implementation of the Cork Kerry Community Healthcare
Operational Plan.
* Support the implementation of Healthy Ireland.
* To provide leadership and direction of the Community Work Service.
* To link, as appropriate, with all HSE divisions i.e. Primary Care,
Social Care, Mental Health and Health & Wellbeing to support the
implementation of community based initiatives.
