* Coordinate sub-group meetings for Dublin Learning City.
* Manage Dublin?s the application process for a UNESCO City of
Learning award.
* Coordinate Dublin Learning City activities between the HEIs,
Dublin City Council, City of Dublin Education and Training Board and
additional partners as relevant.
* Actively contribute to the National Network of Learning Cities as
well as the Global Network of Learning Cities.
* Coordinate the Dublin Learning City Festival in conjunction with
HEI partners UCD, TCD, NCAD, MIE and IADT, and with Dublin City
Council and City of Dublin Education and Training Board.
* Work with the various strands within the UNESCO Global Network of
Learning Cities, including the Health and Learning initiatives.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Professionally qualified - a degree in communications, business,
marketing, education, community development or a related area is
desirable.

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE (ESSENTIAL & DESIRABLE)

* An understanding of issues relating to educational access by
students from under represented socio- economic groups;
* Evidence of a high standard of administrative and organisational
skills with the ability to work under pressure and to prioritise and
meet deadlines, as well as the ability to develop systems and
procedures to improve organisational administration;
* Proven ability to plan at a strategic level and to work
efficiently and effectively under pressure;
* Strong networking skills and proven ability to communicate and
network with students, academics, and external stakeholders; excellent
written and oral communication skills including the production of
reports for different audiences, experience of preparing and
presenting proposals, and evaluations to external funders;
* Influencing, persuasion and negotiation skills;
* Creative and analytical thinking;
* Written and verbal communication;
* IT proficiency, including websites, and social media channel
maintenance;
* Adaptability/Flexibility;

ESSENTIAL ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS, PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE AND
SPECIFIC PERSONAL QUALITIES

PERSONAL QUALITIES (ESSENTIAL)

* A Primary degree in Communications, Business, Marketing, Education,
Community Development or a related area within the National
Qualifications Framework or equivalent or an approved professional
qualification relevant to the post from a recognized degree awarding
authority;
* A minimum of three years? experience of working in a related
area;
* Prior experience working on a research project with a range of
stakeholders;
* Evidence of project management;
* Evidence of excellent organisational, oral and written
communication skills;
* Dedication and enthusiasm;
* An ability to work independently to a tight schedule;
* Capability of working effectively within a team to achieve
results;
* Evidence of high levels of initiative.

possess fluency in written and spoken English. Where formal
certification of fluency has already been acquired then this must be
