ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT AND SCOPE:

inter-governmental organization in the field of migration and works
closely with governmental, intergovernmental and nongovernmental
partners. IOM is dedicated to promoting humane and orderly migration
for the benefit of all. It does so by providing services and advice to
governments and migrants.

IOM opened an office in Ireland in **Apply on the website**. Ireland

IOM Ireland provides Assisted Voluntary Return and Reintegration
Programmes (AVRR) that are open to migrants (asylum seekers (VARRP)
and irregular migrants (iVARRP)) from non-EEA countries, who wish to
return home voluntarily but do not have the means, including the
necessary documentation, to do so. Programme activities additionally
include the following areas of migration management: Resettlement,
Family Reunification and Counter-Trafficking

_CONTEXT:_

Under the overall supervision of the Chief of Mission, the Senior
Operations and Programme Coordinator and the Senior Protection and
Programmes Assistant, the Consultant will be responsible for drafting
the IOM Ireland Resettlement Predeparture Orientation Curriculum and
Activities to include:

_CORE FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITIES:_

* Gather, consolidate and analyze existing IOM PDO materials,
techniques and practices with the support of IOM staff in Ireland;
* Contextualize the PDO materials, considering the context of the
resettlement programme into Ireland.
* Finalize a training handbook for the training participants
* Assist in the development of PPT slides for the training modules
* Develop feedback mechanisms before, during and after the training
* Liaise with IOM Ireland colleagues on the translation of the PDO
materials
* Identify priority subjects with IOM Ireland team and develop
post-arrival orientation materials which would be complementary to the
PDO

_DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE _

EDUCATION

* Bachelor?s Degree or equivalent from an accredited academic
institution, preferably in Political Sciences, Law, Social Studies,
with one year of relevant work experience;

EXPERIENCE

* Good knowledge of information technology and proficiency in
Microsoft Office applications (in particular Excel).
* Good knowledge of research methodology and development of
questionnaires.
* Previous experience in preparing reports;
* Good knowledge of the work carried out by the UN, in particular
IOM and the AVR/R programme.
* Previous experience and/or an interest in working with migrants or
vulnerable populations would be an advantage.

LANGUAGES

* Fluency in English is required
* Any other IOM official language is an advantage

Award of contract will be subject to certification that the candidate
is medically fit and verification of residency, visa and
authorizations by the Irish authorities, when applicable.
