ABOUT THE ROLE:

Family Carers Ireland wish to make the following appointment;

ROLE: Quality & Safety Manager
REPORTING TO: Head of Corporate Services
LOCATION: Family Carers Ireland, Market Square, Tullamore, Co. Offaly.
There will be a requirement for the successful candidate to be
flexible and visit any of Family Carers Ireland?s locations as
necessary. There will also be flexibility in enabling the successful
candidate to work remotely particularly during Covid-**Apply on the
website**.
CONTRACT DURATION: Permanent Role (Following successful completion of
six month probation period).
HOURS PER WEEK: **Apply on the website** per week. The normal office
opening hours are 9 am to 5.**Apply on the website** pm (Monday to
Thursday) and 9 am to 5 pm (Friday).

The role of Quality & Safety Manager will provide professional
direction to Family Carers Ireland by leading the development and
management of the Organisation?s quality, safety and risk
programmes.

This individual will also contribute to service planning and support
our client care delivery ensuring that the highest standards of Home
Support Services are delivered to clients in line with the Core Values
of Family Carers Ireland. This role sits on the Senior Management Team
of Family Carers Ireland.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

In this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for the
following;

_LEADERSHIP IN QUALITY ASSURANCE_

* To lead the development and maintenance of best practice Quality,
Safety and Risk policies & procedures to ensure that the highest
standards of services are delivered to clients in line with the Core
Values of Family Carers Ireland.
* Be responsible for Quality Assurance in line with Family Carers
Ireland?s standards for a designated caseload of clients.
* Ensure the adequacy and appropriateness of Quality Assurance
systems in place within the Organisation.
* Through utilisation of our In Home Care Respite Manual as the
standard for the provision of Home Support Services, ensure that
internal policies, procedures and Family Carers Ireland?s Quality
Management System are adhered to.
* Provide support to the Quality and Safety Board Sub-Committee
which will involve attending meetings and reporting on organisational
quality and safety work plans.
* Develop, lead and participate in quality audits as identified by
the Organisation.
* In collaboration with members of the Operations team, support the
development of a programme for quality improvement, including quality
priorities and metrics.
* Ensure quality improvement and clinical governance techniques and
tools are embedded throughout the Organisation?s operational model
and develop tools to illustrate same.

_RISK FRAMEWORK_

* Maintain the Organisation?s Risk Register from a Quality, Safety
& Risk perspective.
* Identify key areas of risk and actions to mitigate against same.
* Development and implementation of an FCI Quality Risk Management
Framework

_STANDARDS MANAGEMENT_

* Develop and oversee the implementation and maintenance of a system
of continuous development for all staff involved in the delivery of
Home Support Services.
* Evaluate training needs for Home Support Services staff and
implement training and mentoring where necessary.
* Provide education and support in developing, implementing and
maintaining quality improvement activities.

_OPERATIONAL SUPPORT_

* Support the Operations Management team as appropriate to ensure the
efficient delivery of Home Support Services.
* Identify and report incidents and accidents in line with
legislation and Health & Safety Authority regulations and take any
remedial action necessary to prevent re-occurrence.
* Identify and report any Safeguarding concerns raised to the HSE
Safeguarding and Protection team.
* Collate and report to the HSE on complaints relating to the
Organisation?s service.
* Provide day to day quality and safety operational support to local
managers within the Operations function.
* Participate in investigation and disciplinary processes as
necessary.

_GENERAL_

* Support all team members by working together as a group to achieve
organisational goals and uphold organisational values.
* Contribute to strategic and operational planning as a member of
the Corporate Services Team and the Senior Management Team.

_PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT_

* Participate in the Organisation?s Performance Management
programme.

_POLICIES & PROCEDURES_

* Adhere to the Organisation?s policies and procedures.

_OTHER DUTIES_

* Undertake other duties as may be required and assigned by the
Organisation from time to time.

ROLE CRITERIA:

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications, skills and
attributes:

* Degree or Masters in Quality or other relevant discipline;
* Experienced Healthcare Professional;
* Completion of Safeguarding of Vulnerable Adults Designated Officer
training is preferable;
* Experience in the Home Support Services sector is preferable;
* Full driving licence and access to own vehicle is essential;
* Be fully IT proficient particularly in MS Office (Excel, Word and
PowerPoint) and other relevant IT systems;
* Strong written and oral communications skills are essential;
* Be able to demonstrate a high level of attention to detail;
* Have a proactive and strong work ethic with excellent
communication, interpersonal, problem solving, conflict management,
customer service and decision making skills;
* Have the ability to work in a dynamic, challenging and sometimes
physically remote environment;
* Be able to demonstrate strong cross-functional team work skills;
* Be capable of working independently, managing own workload and
reporting on progress in an effective manner.
