Freight Specialist

We are currently recruiting for a Freight Specialist for a global
business based in Co Offaly. This is a full time, permanent role. The
successful candidate will support all areas within the freight
department including:
* Liaising with carriers, work closely with customer service teams and
site logistics staff. Data entry, auditing invoices, maintaining
databases and reporting and coordinating claim processing through
settlement.You will be responsible for supporting Freight&#**Apply on
the website**;s Lean initiatives and maintaining critical data used in
our analysis.
* Coordinating the handling of complaints, settling disputes, and
supporting the resolution of transportation service and cost
grievances and conflicts.
* The successful candidate must be customer focused, detail orientated
and takes pride in quality work.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Provide routing support to sites and internal departments
* Liaise with Freight suppliers for booking, tracking and POD
* Maintain information flow to Customer Service Teams and sites on
Shipping Issues.
* Update and maintain weekly freight audit files
* Provide maintenance of freight metrics and performance databases
* Improve and adapt procedures / documents / processes where needed to
be succinct
* Audit, review and processing of manual invoices
* Entering, transcribing, recording, storing, or maintaining
information in written or electronic form
* Processing claims, complaints, carrier reimbursements and credits
* Coordinate Lean project reporting and updates
* Obtaining, reviewing and providing online reports, invoices and data
* Coordinating ship site non-compliance reports and follow up
* Maintain regular contact with Logistics personnel in all offices
* Encourage and build mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among
team members and cross functionally
* Performs other related duties as assigned

EXPERIENCE:
* 2 - 4 years Minimum transportation or logistics experience
* Customer satisfaction focused
* Familiarity with transportation rating software and online reporting
tools preferred
* Ability to compile, organize, analyze and present data and relate
findings to business objectives
* Solid business acumen and effective interpersonal, written and
verbal communication skills
* Able to execute multiple tasks within tight timelines
* Adaptable to change within a fast paced, matrix environment
* Strong in all aspects of MS Office Professional, advanced level
skills in MS Excel and strong acuity in MS PowerPoint, One Note and
Access
* European Languages an advantage
* Attention to detail and quality
* Hazmat Experience an advantage
* Experience with Life Sciences or High-Value commodities an advantage
* Dealing with Freight Forwarders and International Parcel carriers
* Logistics and/or Shipping Qualification
* Oracle preferred
