PART TIME SCHOOL COMPLETION PROGRAMME PROJECT WORKER

DUBLIN NORTH CENTRAL SCP

The Dublin North Central School Completion Programme operates across 6
schools (2 Post-Primary,4 Primary) in the Dublin North Central area.
The main aim of the programme is to assist young people to complete
the Leaving Certificate or to achieve an equivalent qualification.
This aim is achieved by positively impacting upon the attendance,
participation and retention of young people in school.

The programme is seeking to employ a Part Time?PROJECT WORKER **APPLY
ON THE WEBSITE** HOURS A WEEK OVER 5 DAYS?on a fixed-term (**APPLY ON
THE WEBSITE** MONTH) contract.?The successful candidate will be
working directly with young people considered at risk of early school
leaving for an initial period of **Apply on the website** months.

EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

_ESSENTIAL;_

* Recognised third level qualification in Youth, Community, Social
Work or Education
* Ability to plan, implement and evaluate programmes
* Ability to self-evaluate and critically reflect upon own work
* Excellent written and oral communication skills
* Excellent IT skills, the ability to write reports, collect and
collate data.
* Ability to facilitate group work and one-to-one sessions with
students aged **Apply on the website**
* Knowledge of the Irish educational system
* Skills and abilities which can be brought to the role(e.g.
Sport/Art/Music/IT)
* Experience of delivering programmes to young people
* Experience and knowledge in the issues of young people in
disadvantaged socio-economic areas or/and with behavioural issues/
anti-social behaviour.

ROLE:

The role will entail assisting the Local coordinator in implementing a
programme working to address attendance issues, behaviour and working
with small groups of students with additional needs.

* Organize and facilitate a programme in a secondary school and a
primary school to reduce days lost to poor attendance and punctuality.
* Work across activities across the project
* Work closely with parents, students, school staff and other
external organisations.
* Provide academic, behavioural and emotional support to selected
programme participants in groups and one-to-one basis, supporting
solution-focused outcomes.
* Manage the attendance of targeted students within the schools.
* Work on behaviour change to allow for full access to the school
curriculum.
