JOB ROLE
* As the Embedded Software/Firmware Engineer, you will play an
important role in developing embedded software/firmware for incredible
Medical Device products and internal development tools
* You will be responsible for developing technical specifications
for software/firmware projects related to these devices
* You will lead all phases of the software development life cycle of
products.
* As Embedded Software/Firmware Engineer you will also coordinate
technical aspects of projects with other group engineers, as well as
with external development groups to ensure developments work in tandem
* You will have the responsibility for conducting development
activities across multiple simultaneous projects, with a diversity of
overlapping timelines
* Due to the high regulatory requirements and the importance of
patient safety with these devices, you will thoroughly test and
document work
QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Bachelor?s or graduate degree in Electrical and/or
Computer Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
Experience
* 5+ years of experience in hands-on research and development in
embedded C / C++
* Ability to function well in a self-driven, start-up like
environment and balance multiple projects
* Experience in standard communication protocols (e.g. I2C, SPI, USB
and Bluetooth)
* Experience in methodical software development methodology (e.g.
V-Model, Waterfall, Agile etc..).
* Primary experience developing firmware in C for microcontroller
platforms with some additional higher-level software experience
(Proficiency with Python, Java and SQL desirable.
* Proficiency with Python, Java and SQL desirable.
* Experience using electronic test equipment for the development and
test of embedded systems to communicate in English, including writing
technical documentation.
Preferred:
* Prior experience developing medical devices or instrumentation, or
working in other high reliability and/or heavily regulated fields
