REQUEST FOR TENDER (RFT) TO PROVIDE CONFLICT MANAGEMENT SKILLS
TRAINING.

INTRODUCTION

Sage Advocacy is a support and advocacy service for vulnerable adults,
older people and healthcare patients.

The mission of Sage Advocacy is to promote, protect and defend the
rights and dignity of vulnerable adults, older people and healthcare
patients. We support and advocate for people independently of family,
service provider or systems interests and much of our work involves
people whose decision-making capacity is in question. Our mission is
encapsulated in our motto? Nothing about you without you?.

In the course of providing independent advocacy to our clients, Sage
Advocates need to deal with various conflict situations in which our
clients find themselves. That conflict may be within our clients?
own family, or between the client?s family members and the various
health or other systems.

Sage Advocacy invites tenders from experienced conflict management
trainer/s to deliver this training to approximately **Apply on the

KEY OBJECTIVE OF THIS TRAINING

The key objective of this training for Sage staff is to enhance their
existing skills by acquiring the further specific skills needed to
enter into conflict situations of all kinds that may arise in the
ordinary course of their case work with older people, healthcare
patients and vulnerable adults and to be in a position to deal with it
effectively and with confidence and in accordance with the Guiding
Principles of the Assisted Decision Making (Capacity) Act **Apply on

TRAINING REQUIREMENTS FOR SAGE ADVOCATES

* The communication skills needed to meet in person with parties
including Sage client, client?s family and/or various health/social
care professionals involved in conflict with one another and/or the
Sage Advocacy client, whilst remaining in their role as independent
advocate for the Sage client.
* The skills of collaborative negotiation in matters concerning the
Sage Advocacy client whilst remaining in their role as that client?s
independent advocate.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED OF TRAINERS

* Registration as an Advanced Mediator in The Mediator?s Institute
of Ireland (MII) or its equivalent.
* Proven record of delivery of similar conflict management training
with references.

TRAINING METHODS REQUIREMENTS

The training should be capable of being delivered on line as well as
in person and must include, but not be limited to experiential
training.
Preferably role plays should be designed to put principles of conflict
management taught into practice in conflict situations specific to
Sage Advocacy.

TRAINING TIMELINE

This training should be delivered in autumn/winter **Apply on the

CLOSING DATE FOR SUBMISSION OF TENDER

Tendering individuals or organisations must submit a tender document
of no more than four pages as soon as possible and by November **Apply

Each tender should include:

* A profile or CV of the individual(s) making the proposal;
* Details of previous relevant work in this area;
* The methodology you propose to adopt in order to achieve the Key
Objective;
* Costing and timeline with respect to the proposed work.
