OVERALL PURPOSE OF JOB

The Migrant Family Support Service (MFSS) delivers culturally
sensitive support and advocacy services to Migrant Families who are
experiencing child protection interventions. The project is supported
by Tusla Child and Family Agency and co-ordinated by the New
Communities Partnership.

The Family Support Worker will work closely with Project Manager to
develop the project through implementing the project objectives
through a holistic approach to support and empower Migrant parents who
are experiencing child protection interventions.

_KEY RESPONSIBILITIES_

* Case management and carrying out initial and comprehensive
assessments for assigned cases, reporting directly to the project
manager
* Implementing Client Support Plans and evaluating the outcomes on
regular basis
* Reporting to project manager, the progress of case management and
assigned tasks
* Documenting case work under restricted GDPR and ethical practices
* Delivering awareness training and providing information and advice
to clients on positive parenting practices in Ireland and information
on the guidelines of Child First Act, **Apply on the website**
* Data input and updating CRM system with all communication records
in case management
* Reaching out to clients and accompanying parents who attend
meetings at Tusla departments
* Liaising with the Child and Family Agency (Tusla) and local
authorities and provide cultural support to social workers
* Effectively run activities with the Migrant Family Support Service
team as required by Project Manager and NCP management
* Adhering to NCP internal policies and procedures
* Participating in staff training sessions and meetings that
supports the vision and objectives of MFSS project
* Communicating and linking with professionals on behalf of / and
under the consent of the client
* Work with the Project Manager and MFSS team in conducting regular
client satisfaction reviews

_PERSON SPECIFICATION_

* Minimum FETAC level 6 Qualification in the field of Social Care,
Community Work, Social Studies or equivalent
* 3 years? experience in Family support settings or similar
positions is desired
* Fluent English oral skills and proficiency in writing skills
* Broad Knowledge on what constitutes Child Protection in Ireland
* Adequate Knowledge on the Irish Housing, Social Welfare and Health
system
* Ability to work in a busy and fast paced environment
* Knowledge in using the CRM Data Management or similar, and ability
to conduct data entry on a regular basis
* Flexibility to work according to the service demands with
possibilities to attend meetings offsite
* Able to speak Romanian, Arabic, Bengali or Western African
Languages is desirable but not essential
