In **Apply on the website**, Cumas started the Pobal Funded School
Leavers Ability Project to support all School Leavers with
disabilities in the targeted areas in the transition from school to
accessing ?Ordinary Lives in Ordinary Places?. A primary objective
of the project is to create the expectation amongst the participants
of their right to an ?Ordinary Life?.

Project aim is to support individuals to make choices and decisions in
their final years of school. We also offer an outreach support to
individuals. Support is given on an individualised basis.

TO SUPPORT OUR MISSION, VISION, AND DEVELOPMENT OF THE PROJECT WE ARE
LOOKING FOR:

PART-TIME SOCIAL CARE WORKER
ABILITY PROJECT
(MATERNITY COVER)

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

* Support school students (individuals) and their families in
transition to the pathways of their choice over a period of three
years (two in school)
* Facilitate the person centred development of individuals to the
maximum of their potential, to facilitate the transition to the
pathway of their choice
* Identify supports and work in partnership with the individual,
their family and other supports as outlined within individual plans
* Support individuals with no support networks to reconnect to the
services, and assist in developing their individual plans

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

* Minimum level 7 QQI Qualification in Social Care, Applied Social
Studies, or other relevant qualification
* Experience working within an adult disability setting
* Full clean driving license
* First Aid Responder Training
* Safeguarding Awareness
* Manual Handling and People Moving

DESIRABLE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

* Working knowledge of New Directions and Interim Standards
* Knowledge of the Assisted decision Making (Capacity) Act
* Management of Actual or Potential Aggression Training (MAPA)
* Knowledge of Comprehensive Employment Strategy
* Fire Safety Training
* Report Writing
* Computer Skills

COMPETENCIES, SKILLS AND PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES:

* Understand the impact of the Assisted decision Making (capacity)

* Understand the values and ethos of United Convention of the Rights

* Working knowledge of Person Centred Plans and Care Plans.

* Excellent ability to work alone and as a part of a team
* Strong written, verbal and listening skills
* Excellent standards of conduct and confidentiality
* Self-driven, proactive, and dedicated
* Be able to demonstrate flexibility in support of the team
* Be able to demonstrate an equality-based approach

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

* Specified Purpose Contract (Maternity Cover)

The position is based in New Ross, Co. Wexford. The position is
part-time and on a specified purpose contract. Salary levels will
