JOB DESCRIPTION: LIMETREE MANAGER

REPORTING TO: CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

JOB TYPE: FULL TIME

Childhood Matters is the new trading name of the Bessborough Centre,
based in Blackrock Cork City. We are a trauma-informed, and equal

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Limetree Manager will
lead and coordinate an established multidisciplinary team of family
support staff to deliver high quality and trauma-informed services to
children and families across Co. Cork. While operationally overseeing
services the post holder will have a case load, deliver interventions
and offer advice, training & initiating research or service
evaluation. They will work as part of a wider Child and Family
Services Management Team and have a service development mindset at all
times.

MAIN AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

* To coordinate the delivery and development of community-based
family supports that meet the needs of referred families and children
and ensures that children are protected.
* With the team provide planned, intensive and timely programmes to
families at times that work for them including evenings and weekends.
* To coordinate the provision of high-quality multidisciplinary
parenting assessments, formulations & interventions
* Communicate in a skilled, timely & sensitive manner with the
clients, clinical team, court services & referring agents.
* To ensure a culture of responsiveness, ambition and improvement
within the staff team ensuring best use of existing skills and
knowledge and a proactive response to the needs of children and
families.
* To write quality and timely multi-disciplinary assessments and
case reports & to present findings in Court and at professional
meetings when appropriate.
* Ensure effective aftercare planning for families transitioning
from residential care.
* Ensure performance management, supervision, and support is
available to line staff.
* To measure impact and outcomes of services and report regularly on
these.
* Demonstrate an allegiance to established practice evidence bases
at all times
* To ensure the work of services is integrated and makes best use of
opportunities offered by other services within the Childhood Matters
and external stakeholders.
* To build local partnerships and contribute to safeguarding
practices at the Childhood Matters and in the community.
* To contribute to the development, evaluation and monitoring of the
services, through participation in research, service evaluation and
audit.
* To contribute to the Childhood Matters internal Specialist
Training Programme for family assessment and treatment staff.
* To ensure the development, maintenance and dissemination of the
highest professional standards of practice, through active
participation in CPD training and development, conferences and
engagement with current literature and publication of papers and
presentations at events.
* To contribute to the development and articulation of best practice
within the service areas, by exercising the skills of a reflective
practitioner, taking part in and delivering regular professional
supervision and performance management.
* Be available to support managers of other Child and Family
Services to include on-call cover for annual leave when required
* To promote trauma informed practice in line with Childhood Matters
Trauma Informed Principals through management of staff, client
interaction and service provision.

The duties and responsibilities listed above describe the post as it
is at present but may be subject to reasonable change according to
service need.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

* A qualified and experienced Social Worker or allied
social/healthcare professional
* Practical and successful post-qualification experience of working
with vulnerable and at-risk families in the community.
* Strong working knowledge of theoretical frameworks that underpin
Childhood Matters Services such an attachment, infant mental health,
trauma-informed care, signs of safety etc
* Experience of court work is essential
* Experience and understanding of parenting assessment and family
intervention
* Casework management experience to ensure successful and safe work
practice.
* Able to work flexibly, including evenings and out of hours where
necessary and to conduct home visits.
* Experience of communicating effectively with a wide range of
agencies, children, legal systems and parents/carers.
* Ability to use a variety of IT and Office software.
* Full driving licence is essential.
* Additional qualifications in provision of therapeutic supports and
attachment approaches will be a distinct advantage.
