Recovery Haven Kerry Cancer Support House (RHK) is a community-based

cancer, their families and carers. We provide services in our main
centre in Tralee and at community outreach locations. The following
services are provided free of charge:

* A drop in and phone support service where visitors can discuss
their issues in confidence with trained volunteers under the
supervision of trained professionals.
* Support, information, and practical advice from the clinical team.
* Professional Counselling Services for adults and children.
* Complimentary Therapies Service ? Reiki, Massage, Reflexology.
* Support Groups- Professionally led by a qualified
nurse/facilitator.
* Classes: Yoga and Mindfulness, Hydrotherapy exercises.
* Wig Fitting Service, Bra/Prosthesis fitting service and Manual
Lymphatic Drainage clinic

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

1. OPERATIONS

* In line with the mission and values of Recovery Haven Kerry (RHK)
the operational manager is responsible for the overall management and
leadership of Recovery Haven Kerry, it?s team of over **Apply on the
website** volunteers and 6 staff members who will support the
candidate (admin/social media/clinical/data gathering/fundraising) to
maintain optimal operational performance.
* Provide effective management, clear direction and day to day
supervision to all staff, therapists, counsellors, volunteers, CE
Scheme workers.
* Motivate and support all members of the Recovery Haven Team to
deliver on the overall objectives of RHK.
* Work with the clinical/services team to ensure optimal delivery of
services and supports as per our mission statement.
* In liaison with the clinical/services manager ensure the efficient
running of all services including our community outreach services
covering HR, financial and health and safety and the appropriate
development of further services/locations
* Ensure excellent relationship with key partners, liaise with
potential corporate sponsors/partners and funding agencies
* Report to Board of Management, attend sub committees and Board
meetings as required
* Ensure Service level agreements and contracts are in place:
insurance, outreach agreements etc
* Development of in-house and outreach services as appropriate to
identified need.

2. HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT

* To manage existing staff, ensuring targets are being met, holding
weekly management meetings, staff supervision and appraisal.
* Recruit for new staff and contractor positions including
recruitment, training, supervision of staff, staff appraisals
* To ensure volunteer coordination and support including
recruitment, training, induction, support, and supervision

3. ADMINISTRATION & FINANCE

* Ensure Governance and Regulator compliancy, preparation of reports
to Board, Charity Regulator and funding Bodies, database management,
gathering and statistical reports (inc GDPR)
* Ensure an effective financial management system is in place to
efficiently resource allocation and budget planning
* Ensure the Risk Register is continually reviewed.
* Oversee the administration associated with rostering, payroll,
petty cash, and Monthly financial reports.
* Work with the Fundraising committee ensuring adherence to our
fundraising policy, assisting on fundraising activities including
co-ordination of volunteers and other new initiatives
* Ensure that all facilities are to the highest standards and secure
resources for upgrading as required.
* Assume responsibility for the management of the refurbishment and
minor works being presently carried at RHK.
* Manage and monitor the annual budget to ensure costs are
controlled and relevant to the annual budget and building increasing
levels of sustainability
* Ensure that all necessary and required administration is in place
* Identify and prepare funding applications and fulfilment of grants

4. HEALTH & SAFETY

* Ensure Health & Safety compliance including health & safety
reviews, risk assessments of venues and service delivery
* Ensure RHK Safety Statement is up to date
* Identify and organise training as required in line with H&S policy

5. STANDARDS

* Ensure the highest quality service as per best practice guidance
for community cancer support centres.
* Responsible for ensuring the highest standards of compliance in
relation to fundraising and public activities that comply with the
Charities Act and required legislation
* Be responsible for the continuity of high standards in all aspects
of RHK actions
* Oversee and monitor service attendances, ensuring all operational
procedures are followed and appointments are always maximised.
* As operational manager and a valued stakeholder responsible for
the reputation and the delivery of services at RHK you will be working
hand in hand with the Board of Directors, contributing to the growth
and strategic direction of RHK, minimising risk and highlighting any
issues of concern to the board.

6. MARKETING AND COMMUNICATION

* Promote the work of RHK
* Lead initiatives on PR and community for RHK
* Ensure data is captured and up to date regarding all development
activity
* Ensure Communication Strategy is in place e.g., social media,
website
* Maintain and develop the website content and actively use social
media for promotion, delegating actions to staff when / where
appropriate.
* Establish and maintain strong relationships / partnerships to
promote RHK amongst local community and corporate organisations.

7. ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

The ideal candidate must be able to demonstrate:

* 3 years supervisory management experience
* Experience in leading teams and optimising of individuals within
the team
* Excellent interpersonal skills, including a high level of
listening and empathetic skills
* Strategic Management & Change
* Strong proficiency in IT, particularly MS Office, Word, PowerPoint
and Excel.
* Excellent motivation and organisational skills including the
ability to prioritise a diverse workload.
* A sensitivity to the experiences of cancer for patients and their
families and an appreciation of the role of community cancer support
services.
* Qualifications, to grade 7 or higher

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

* Full driving license and use of vehicle
* Prepared to work **Apply on the website**.5 hours over a 7-day
week, i.e., work outside of normal hours, as necessary.
