CLARE YOUTH SERVICE

Clare Youth Service, a community-based charity, is the leading
provider of youth work programmes and services to young people in the
county. An integrated service, we offer a range of programmes and
supports for young people throughout Clare. Currently we have a number
of opportunities available for dynamic, committed and enthusiastic
people interested in working in partnership with young people.

Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced
people for the following posts:

POST 1: YOUTH WORKER ? ENNIS (**APPLY ON THE WEBSITE**.5 HOURS PER

WEEK)

Youth Workers in Clare Youth Service work in partnership with young
people to co-design activities, opportunities and experiences to meet
their needs. Using Youth Work methodologies the Youth Workers deliver
a range of activities and programmes in a number of youth centres and
on an outreach basis.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES ARE TO:

* Advocate with and for young people
* Engage young people in a range of supportive programmes designed
to meet their needs
* Recruit and support volunteers to work with young people

POST 3: YOUTH JUSTICE WORKER ? ENNIS / SHANNON REGION

MATERNITY COVER JULY TO JANUARY (**APPLY ON THE WEBSITE**.5 HOURS PER
WEEK)

In this post, you will join our team on the Youth Diversion
Project.?The catchment area of this YDP is the Ennis/Shannon region.
The aim of the Youth Diversion Project is to respond to the needs of
young people aged **Apply on the website** to **Apply on the website**
years who are involved in and/or at risk of criminal or anti-social
behaviour in their catchment areas. The purpose of YDPs is to assess
the needs and risks of the target group, to engage them in a process
of learning and development that will enable them to critically
examine their own offending and to support them to make positive
lifestyle choices that will protect them from involvement in criminal,
harmful or socially unacceptable behaviours.

Ideal candidates for all these posts should demonstrate enthusiasm,
creativity, commitment and an ability to think and work independently.
They should have excellent interpersonal, organisational,
communication and facilitation skills, and be able to engage young
people in developmental group work and one-to ?one programmes.
Experience in outreach work, including digital youth work, and the
ability to prepare and write reports, are essential requirements. A
relevant third level qualification plus one year of professional
experience or three years of voluntary experience are also essential.
These posts involve significant work on evenings and weekends.

POST 4: PART-TIME YOUTH WORKER ENNIS ? FRIDAYS 2P.M. TO 9 P.M.

POST 5: SESSIONAL WORKERS

The Service maintains a panel of individuals who are interested in
working with young people on a part-time or sessional basis. Hours are
available at different times of the year and are primarily scheduled
for evenings and weekends. The successful candidates will be dynamic,
creative and committed individuals. Some of the part-time roles will
require relevant qualifications and experience. For sessional hours,
where the candidate will be working alongside qualified workers,
applications will be accepted from students in their 3rd or final year
of study in a relevant discipline.
