CHILDCARE MANAGER POSITION

Ruan Community Childcare Ltd. is seeking to recruit a Childcare
Manager to lead this long established service. Begun in **Apply on the

Our ethos strives to encourage children to engage in freely chosen
self-directed play, with independence and resilience being strongly
promoted by staff. The adult?s role is seen as observer ? one who
strives to recognise the individuality of each child, regardless of
their capabilities and who encourages each child to reach their full
potential, by providing a rich environment for them to explore. Our
work over the years has been underpinned by national childcare policy
and informed by practice/research undertaken at Penn Green, Colby, UK.

We provide affordable and flexible quality childcare with a strong
emphasis on inclusion and partnership with parents and the local
community. This is a stand-alone role with full responsibility and
accountability for the maintenance of good practice standards in the
management and delivery of a high quality early years and afterschool
service. The Manager will be responsible for the efficient financial
management and operations of both services.

THIS IS AN EXCITING AND REWARDING TERM TIME POSITION AND REQUIRES THE
FOLLOWING QUALITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS IN THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE:

* A child centred communicator with an inclusive approach to
childcare and a thorough knowledge of child development and its
application to practice.
* Leadership and organisational skills with excellent personal and
inter-personal skills
* A sound working knowledge of S?olta & Aistear
* A comprehensive knowledge of _CHILD CARE_?Act **Apply on the
website** (Early Years Services) (Amendment) Regulations **Apply on
the website** and (Registration of School Age Services)?_REGULATIONS

* An understanding and knowledge of?the National Quality
Framework?and of all aspects of operating a quality school aged
environment required.
* A comprehensive knowledge and understanding of child protection
and the duties and responsibilities under Children First.
* A comprehensive understanding of the administration and promotion
of the DCEDIY childcare funding programmes.
* Minimum Level 7 major award in Early Childhood Care and Education
on the National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ).
* Minimum three years? relevant?experience.
