EDUCATION & TRAINING DEVELOPMENT OFFICER

Pieta?s Education and Training Department is a central element of
our preventative pillar. The Education and Training Department focuses
on our suicide prevention efforts and aims to work to help people
avoid getting to the point where suicide or self-harm becomes a
consideration for them.

The Education and Training Department provides information and
psychoeducation about suicide and self-harm, mental well-being, and
the supports that Pieta offer.

As an Education and Training Development Officer you will be
responsible for leading on the design and delivery of training and
education programmes and modules in line with the HSE and Department
of Education standards and guidelines.

LOCATION: Remote working with travel required
POSITION TYPE: Full-time Mon - Fri 9am to 5pm // Permanent contract

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Your responsibilities will consist of, but are not limited to the
following:

* To lead on the design and delivery of training and education
programmes and modules
* Design and develop education and training content that reflects an
understanding of the diversity of learners ensuring it is in line with
the HSE and Department of Education standards and guidelines
* Develop and deliver resources, programmes and materials that can
be used across various platforms, ensuring educational content adheres
to Pieta?s policies and procedures. Ensure topics are researched in
an evidence-based way
* Take ownership of projects and workplans and effectively plan and
manage the implementation and delivery
* Delegate tasks to team members and get the best out of individuals
and the team, encouraging good performance
* Review insights, data, and feedback to produce high quality
learning materials and presentations
* Proactively communicate and disseminate information about
Pieta?s education and training to all relevant internal and external
stakeholders
* Manage the response to education and training requests
* Plan and co-ordinate education and training events and participate
in events where appropriate
* As required, deliver training programmes and educational messages
either online or face-to-face (when appropriate) to a wide group of
audiences
* Prepare reports and presentations highlighting key insights to
support business decisions
* Manage and foster external key relationships and stakeholders
* Support the Education and Training Manager with planning key
projects and managing relevant tasks

EDUCATION, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

* Must hold a relevant Degree or third level qualification in
Education or Training

* Desirable in addition to above:

* Clinical/Mental Health qualification
* Community Development qualification/experience
* Youth Work/Youth Mental Health qualification/experience

* At least three years of experience working in an education and
training environment
* Solid experience of designing, developing, and delivering
education and training programmes and content for dissemination to a
variety of audiences and various age groups is essential
* A clear understanding of the role of education in mental health
and/or suicide/self-harm prevention
* Experience of delivering training and education messages to wide
groups of audiences both online and face-to-face
* Proficient in managing projects and programmes and delivering
results
* Strong written and verbal communication is essential
* Results-focused with strong analytical skills
* Be self-motivated, committed and consistently striving to perform
at a high level
* Values and supports the development of others and the team
* Ability to work on own initiative and work collaboratively with
other team members
* Proven ability to work to deadlines
