TRAVELLER DEVELOPMENT WORKER
LEITRIM DEVELOPMENT COMPANY wishes to recruit a Traveller Development
Worker to join our Community Development Team at Leitrim Travellers
Project. This will be a fixed term temporary contract for **Apply on

JOB SUMMARY:
* Promoting social inclusion in the Traveller Community, through
effective use of community development principles and practice
* Engaging and building the capacity of the Traveller community in
Leitrim.
* Supporting the Traveller Community to address issues through
community development initiatives
* Linking individuals and groups to resources available through
Leitrim Development Company and other organisations
RESPONSIBLE TO: Traveller Project Co-ordinator
LOCATION: Shannonside Community Centre, Carrick on Shannon
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
* A relevant 3rd level qualification in Community development or a
related discipline
* A minimum of 2 years? experience in the area of Community
Development in a similar role.
* Experience of working with the Traveller community would be
advantageous.
* Excellent facilitation and organisational skills
* Be highly motivated, with the ability to work independently in a
team setting
* A full clean driving licence and access to a car for work purposes
* Garda Vetting will apply
