MEMBERSHIP AND ADMINISTRATION OFFICER

TITLE: Part time Membership and Administration Officer

The Irish Thoracic Society is the national organisation representing
respiratory healthcare professionals on the island of Ireland. The
society is dedicated to achieving the highest standards of care for
people with respiratory illness through its work in advocacy education
and research. The scope of the Society?s work encompasses the
spectrum of respiratory disease: Asthma; COPD; Cystic Fibrosis;
Interstitial Lung Diseases; Lung Cancer; Sleep Disorders;
Tuberculosis; Lower Respiratory Tract Infections, Paediatric
Respiratory Disease.

The role of the Membership and Administration Officer is to support
the Society?s work in leading and advancing the care of people with
respiratory illness in Ireland. In particular, this person has a key
role in developing and maintaining the Society?s membership
(respiratory healthcare professionals from throughout Ireland) and
supporting the Society?s educational programme including supporting
the co-ordination of the ITS Annual Scientific Meeting and other
events throughout the year.

JOB DESCRIPTION

* Maintain and update ITS Membership Database
* Monitor and respond to the needs of members
* Help retain and grow ITS Membership
* Co-ordinate communications to members on events, educational
opportunities and general updates ? develop profile and capacity of
ITS as official Information Hub for Respiratory Healthcare Community
in Ireland
* Maintain and update ITS website
* Support financial reporting and management
* Support maintenance and development of governance policies
* Support office administration ? eg sourcing stationery and other
supplies
* Provide support and assistance around organisation and management
of educational and other events.
* Provide administrative support to the CEO as required

PERSON SPECIFICATION

* At least two years experience (or other relevant experience) of
office administration.
* Excellent communications skills: verbal, written, report writing
and presentation
* Excellent organisation and record keeping skills
* Good computer skills with competence in email, Microsoft office
and Wordpress.
* The ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
* Flexible, innovative and adaptable to change
* Good self-starter with ability to work on own initiative
