SOCIAL CARE PRACTITIONER ? 1 YEAR CONTRACT

St. Ultans provides an integrated model of care and education for
children living in Cherry Orchard from infancy through their school
life cycle. By providing a ?wrap around service? through a
multidisciplinary team; Early Years, Teachers, SET, SNA?s, Social
Care Practitioners, Youth Workers, and Therapist. St Ultans focuses on
early intervention through its four strands of service delivery which
include (a) Nursery and Early Childhood Education. (b) Primary School
Education, (c) Care Service (operating during and after school
supports) (d) Community Services (providing nutritious hot meals,
facilities for children and families).

The?care service delivers high quality evidence informed and evidence
based educational interventions in collaboration with the child, the
parent, key worker, and teacher based on the need of the child. The
plans focus on the child?s interests, physical, hygiene, emotion,
communication, strengths, and education.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

* Professionally endorsed qualification in social care or equivalent
in a similar field i.e., child and family, youth, and community work
is essential.
* Experience of working in an area of disadvantage and working with
vulnerable children and their families.
* Experience in developing and implementing individual care plans.
* Trauma informed practice in designing, developing, and
facilitating targeted programmes.
* Experience in report writing and record keeping and proficiency in
IT.
* Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team i.e., teachers,
SNA?s, and therapist.
* Liaising with appropriate statutory and community services.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

* The successful candidate will be offered a one-year contract of
employment, renewable subject to funding.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

Daily delivery of the service include, but not, exclusively the
following programmes.

* MORNING PROGRAMME- _short term intervention to support the child
struggling with the transition from home to class in the morning, to
develop coping strategies to support an easier transition from home to
class._
* IN-SCHOOL SUPPORT ? _semi-structured space for a young person(s)
to explore issues arising within the classroom; support with
behaviors, emotions, developing coping strategies_, _movement breaks,
hair hygiene, and developing independent hygiene practice routines. We
provide support to the Child and Parent to build on positive
relationships._
* MUNCH BUNCH ? _**Apply on the website** week short term
intervention to support the young person(s) struggling during free
play (playground time) who?s struggling with free play, unstructured
time, turn taking, disruptive or violent behavior towards peers. The
aim of this programme is to further develop social skills, encourage
turn taking, building and maintaining positive relationships with both
peers and adults. Individual and small group work is used to explore
the young person(s) behavior to support the young person(s) to
understand their behaviors and the impact on themselves and peer(s),
personal reasonability and to develop coping strategies to support
informed decision making and positive choices._
* LITTLE MARVELS (AFTERSCHOOL) ?_ continuous structured programme
for junior/senior infants developing a routine, homework and literacy
support, hot nutritious meal, hygiene practice, positive play, turn
taking, peer support, emotional regulation, self-regulation, self-
worth, confidence, communication, and free play._
* CLUB SUPPORTS (AFTERSCHOOL) ?_ Structured, unstructured and
target group interventions based on individual and shared needs based
around the interests of the group._
* HOMEWORK SUPPORT (OPTIONAL) ?_ Provide a space for the young
person(s) to complete their homework with support of an adult._
* HYGIENE PROGRAMME ? _Continuous development of hygiene practice
and routine_
* KEY WORKING SESSIONS ?_ Individual one to one support._
