MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN

CO-OPERATIVE HOUSING IRELAND

Co-operative Housing Ireland (CHI) is the national organisation
representing, promoting and developing co-operative housing in
Ireland. Since our foundation in **Apply on the website** we have

shared ownership and social rented co-operatives. As an Approved
Housing Body (AHB), we work with various stakeholders in the housing
sector, including Local Authorities, Government, aspiring homeowners,
tenants and developers. We currently manage over 3,**Apply on the
website** homes across Ireland as well as providing a network of
childcare services in our communities.

1. ROLE

CHI is seeking a ?Maintenance Technician? to join our Asset
Management & Property Services Team on a full-time, permanent basis,
working **Apply on the website** Hours per week Monday to Friday.

The Maintenance Technician will be a member of the Regional Asset
Management Team with responsibility for the maintenance and repairs of
approximately **Apply on the website** units of accommodation across
the Munster, South Leinster, and Connacht Region. The role will be
mobile in nature but will based out of our Limerick & Cork Offices.

2. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

* Provide repairs and maintenance services for CHI Properties in the
Munster, South Leinster, and Connacht Region in conjunction with the
Regional Asset Manager and Regional Maintenance Manager.
* Assess repairs and maintenance requests/complaints from tenants
(members) & housing officers and complete the required works or
recommend & coordinate the engagement of third-party contractors for
this (outlining their scope of work) in conjunction with the Asset
Management & Property Services Helpdesk.
* Carry out maintenance inspections of Units, Common Areas and CHI
Offices, reporting on defects and repair requirements, identifying any
health & safety risks to tenants (members), visitors or employees, and
complete follow-up actions as required/support the engagement of
third-party contractors for this in conjunction with the Asset
Management & Property Services Helpdesk.
* Carry out Fire Safety Block Inspections, reporting all
defects/faults and liaise with the Asset Management & Property
Services Helpdesk for third-party contractors to execute any required
specialist works where necessary.
* Carry out quality control and quality assurance inspections of
works carried out by third party contractors.
* Advise the Regional Asset Manager on the performance of
third-party contractors against their Service Level Agreements.
* Use Handheld PDA for acknowledging, recording, closing, or
reassigning tasks and or repairs orders.
* Adopt appropriate methods when executing inspections, works and
repairs including use of suitable clothing, PPE, tools, and equipment.
* Other relevant duties as determined by the Organisation.

3. REQUIREMENTS

_ESSENTIAL:_

* **Apply on the website** years? experience in a similar role.
* Class B Drivers Licence.
* Eligibility to work in Ireland/EU.
* Excellent Written and Oral English.
* Excellent organisational skills.
* Ability to act on own initiative without supervision.
* Flexibility in approach to tasks.
* Ability to deliver all outputs to a high standard.

* NFQ Level 6 Apprenticeship or Senior Craft?s Certificate in one
of the following Trades:

* Electrical.
* Plumbing.
* Carpentry/Joinery.

_DESIRABLE:_

* Experienced in the maintenance or installation of Heat Pumps.
* Portable Appliance Testing Qualified.
* Registered Gas Installer.

Co-operative Housing Ireland offers a defined contribution pension
scheme. Employees have access to the scheme on successful completion
of their six-month probationary period.

TRAVEL & SUBSISTENCE
Travel and subsistence will be paid at CHI rates.

ANNUAL LEAVE

public holidays), plus an additional 3 Privilege days per year.

E-WORKING ALLOWANCE
Electronic Working Allowance is paid daily for remote working during

training/education courses are supported by the Organisation.
