MIGRANT INTEGRATION PROJECT WORKER

A vacancy has arisen for a Migrant Integration Project Worker, this
will be a full time 2-year specific purpose employment contract. The
role of the Integration Worker is to provide a housing advocacy and
advice service to eligible migrants attending or referred to our
Drop-in Centres.

You will report to the Lifelong Learning Manager, the responsibilities
of the Integration Worker are as follows:

* Provide an outreach housing/tenancy support service on such issues
as welfare benefit, reducing rent arrear, personal budgeting an
accessing other service such as education, health etc, to **Apply on
the website** adult/families on an ongoing basis who will be RIA
referral comprising residents/former residents of regionally based
accommodation centres in the Dublin/Leinster region.
* Provide information and access to SDCP?s range of education,
health and wellbeing and enterprise and employment supports to
eligible clients
* Provide a referral and introduction service for clients to
specialist services as required.
* Co-ordinate all activities, classes, and workshops in the
intercultural centre, supervise staff and provide supports for the
volunteer cohort.
* Provide culturally appropriate information, advice and referral
supports to members of migrant communities in relation to accessing
local services
* Oversee the delivery of English language classes geared towards
the practical needs of local migrants with a particular emphasis on
those with the highest needs and / or literacy issues
* Organise and run 1 - 2 public workshops per year within the
community that will promote intercultural understanding and awareness
and encourage global perspectives on key issues of our times.
* Organise and run 1 - 2 anti-racism / anti-discrimination awareness
workshops aimed at the community a statutory sector and the general
public
* Work with other SDC staff to ensure an integrated service to all
clients of the intercultural centre (s)
* To participate fully and work effectively within the South Dublin
County Partnership Lifelong Learning Team
* Other tasks and duties as and when required by the Lifelong
Learning Senior Manager
