The Irish Environmental Network & The Environmental Pillar: Invitation to Tender for our Websites
1. INTRODUCTION ? WHO WE ARE

The Irish Environmental Network is a coalition of over thirty
environmental NGOs in Ireland and we secure funding for their
activities and showcase their work. Our members come from a range of
different backgrounds, including wildlife protection, sustainable
forestry management, and responsible consumerism. On our website we
provide individual profiles for each member, update a news corner and
keep an up-to-date record of our staff and directors.

The Environmental Pillar is the advocacy branch of the Irish
Environmental Network, and has roughly the same profile of membership
as the IEN. This website has a lot more information on the member
groups including comprehensive policy documents and press releases. It
also keeps an up-to-date record of our staff and Steering Committee.

2. CURRENT WEBSITES

ien.ie and environmentalpillar.ie

3. OUR MISSION

IEN?s mission is to facilitate its members in working individually
and jointly to protect and enhance the environment and to promote the
interlinked principles of environmental, social and economic
sustainability.

The Environmental Pillar is geared towards raising the advocacy
profile of our members and enshrining the work they do. As a coalition
of members, we speak on behalf of our policy positions and aim to
amplify our voice on a national and regional stage.

4. OUR AUDIENCE

Our target audiences are varied. At the IEN, our public face is geared
towards highlighting our members and internally, pointing them towards
funding opportunities which may arise. From the Environmental
Pillar?s standpoint, we want to demonstrate that we, and our
members, are actively engaging on issues that are important to them
and to the environment.

We also want our websites to be an easy, accessible source for the
general public, decision makers and media, with clear indications of
what we stand for and how to find out more about us and our members.

5. OUTCOMES ? WHAT WE WANT FROM THE WEBSITE

Based on the responses from our members, we would like both sites to
have a clean, simple professional look with colour palates consistent
with both logos.

We?d like for both sites to be easily navigable and clearly present
us as influential voices in the environmental movement.

6. SPECIFICALLY ? WHAT WE WANT ON THE WEBSITE

For the IEN website, we would like an About Us page, a membership
page, a page to highlight our legal work, a ?Work with us? page, a
page on ongoing member campaigns and a governance section. Right now,
the membership page is too difficult to navigate, so we would like to
streamline this. We would also like a login section for members
whereby they can download material.

For the Environmental Pillar, the site currently has a lot of outdated
information. We?d like to have a staff and steering committee page,
a policy document page, and a media centre page with past press
releases and contact details.

7. MAINTENANCE, TRAINING, SUPPORT, HOSTING REQUIREMENTS

We?d like both sites to be WordPress sites with minimum custom codes
so it can be updated and maintained by us. We?d like full
documentation of the site, including plug-ins and any custom code
used. In terms of training elements, these needs can be discussed once
the design is agreed.

8. REFERENCE SITES

We are impressed with SpunOut.ie?s new website and would like a
similar feel for our site ? one that is clean, simple and easy to
navigate.

9. BUDGET

We have a dedicated budget for this redesign and will be happy to
discuss this following receipt of a proposal.

**APPLY ON THE WEBSITE**. TIMETABLE

We would like this project to be underway as soon as possible and we
are aiming to have both sites live by the end of Quarter 4.

**APPLY ON THE WEBSITE**. ADDITIONAL NOTES

While the IEN and the Environmental Pillar sites are both in need of
total new website design, we are also looking to update the Green News
? a climate and biodiversity news outlet supported by the IEN.

If you would be interested in assisting us with this update, please
include a quote for this service in your proposal.

Deadline for proposals are FRIDAY, 8 OCTOBER.

If you have any queries, please contact our Communications Officer ?
