ADHD Ireland is a grass roots charity set up by and for people with
Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). ADHD Ireland,
previously called HADD, has existed for over **Apply on the website**

local family support group. Over the years, ADHD Ireland has grown and
developed to provide a range of supports and services (e.g., support
line, parent training, teacher training, group therapy,
psycho-education, etc.) for people affected by ADHD across Ireland.

JOB DESCRIPTION

TITLE: Service Development Manager
LOCATION: ADHD Ireland, Carmichael Centre, North Brunswick Street
Dublin 7 (post will include some travel).?ADHD Ireland is following

possible

REPORTING TO: National Service Development?Manager
NATURE OF POST: Initial one-year contract, with a view to permanent

SUMMARY OF ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

* To provide the services and impacts that lead to achieving the
objectives of ADHD Ireland and a measurable improvement in making life
better for people affected by ADHD, including individuals and families
with ADHD
* Ensuring that frontline service providers in the educational
sector such as Teachers and SNA?s etc have a full awareness of ADHD
and the measures needed to make school (both primary and secondary) a
better experience for those with ADHD
* Ensuring that those professionals diagnosing and engaging with
clients including children and adults in both the public and private
sector have a full understanding of ADHD and have the latest
information available to them on the best treatment options
* The delivery to parents of range of supports such as ?Parents
Plus? courses and the facilitation of support groups both in Dublin
and around the country
* Participate in developing and maintaining networks with allied
professionals and organisations, as well as other ADHD organisations
both in Ireland and abroad

SPECIFIC ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

* To lead on the development and successful implementation of an
engagement and events schedule in line with the strategic plan and the
organisations overall mission and objectives
* To prepare an annual budget for responsible activities as part of
the organisation?s overall budgetary process
* To monitor, review and evaluate the activity and delivery against
annual plans on a continuous basis
* To report on the implementation of annual plans to the CEO, Board
and relevant sub-committees
* To seek out opportunities for statutory and other funding, and
submit funding applications where appropriate
* The SDM will liaise with external organisations with similar aims
to ADHD Ireland, develop working relationships with these
organisations, and engage in joint activities as required
* Develop a policy for the continued use of all our online services
ensuring consistency with our other policies such as our Child
Safeguarding Policy
* Assist in the development of online services as part of ADHD
Ireland response to the Covid **Apply on the website** crisis.
* Working with the National Service Manager to develop a range of
materials (toolkits/booklets etc) to support educational professionals
to assist children with ADHD across their academic journey.
* Create a framework for our support groups both online and face to
face

PERSON SPECIFICATION:

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:

* Evidence of building, managing and developing key external
relationships with health and education leaders in the sector
* Experience of managing budgets and producing reports
* Third level qualification in a relevant discipline
* Experience working with senior level executives in the private and
public sectors
* Proven experience in programme strategy and alignment
* Knowledge and experience of service / support implementation
* Direct experience of working with people (e.g., children, young
people, families, etc.) with additional support needs

ESSENTIAL SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES:

* Outstanding written and oral communication skills, with an ability
to communicate with different target audiences
* Excellent interpersonal, networking and influencing abilities and
being able to work as part of a small team
* Excellent project management, people management, organisational
and planning skills
* Excellent analytical and commercial skills to identify and target
new opportunities
* Strong IT skills including MS Office; website & social media
management; and CRM systems (working experience of Salesforce an
advantage)
* Knowledge and experience of service development / design
* Strategic thinker with ability to work as part of the management
team
* A results-focused self-starter with the ability to manage multiple
demands, prioritise and work under pressure
* Motivated to work within the non-profit health/ disability sector,
with a passion for making a difference
* Preferably, an understanding of and empathy for ADHD related
issues

DESIRABLE SKILLS

* Knowledge of relevant legislation (e.g., disability, safeguarding,
etc.)
* Knowledge of best-practice in the area (e.g., education, CAMHS,
etc.)
* Knowledge of participatory practice (e.g., children?s voice,
patient-led practice, etc.)
* Knowledge of ADHD and coexisting difficulties
* Experience of working with children, young people, and/or their
families who may exhibit challenging behaviours
* Full and clean driver?s license and use of own car
* Flexibility to travel and perform occasional evening and weekend
work
* Thorough understanding of the non-profit landscape in Ireland
