PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

The Integration and Training Officer will play a key role in assisting
in delivering a variety of activities and projects in the area of
migrant integration and anti-racism. The successful candidate will
have an opportunity to contribute to the development of all areas of
our work however, we are particularly looking for a candidate with an
interest in policy development and experience of training delivery.
The post will be located within the Integration Team, and the
successful candidate will directly report to the Integration Manager.
Due to the fast paced working environment we are looking for a
self-motivated and flexible individual that can handle a variety of
tasks.

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

* Monitor policy developments (national and EU-level) and initiatives
related to anti-racism, migrant integration and inclusion;
* Support the Integration Manager with research, and in drafting
policy documents and other communications outputs for both external
and internal stakeholders;
* Develop and deliver training courses and workshops relevant to the
work of the Immigrant Council;
* Building alliances with migrant leaders, community groups, civil
society organisations, state agencies and other stakeholders in
relation to anti-racism and integration policy and practice
development;
* Participate in immigration and integration reform fora at national
and European level that are relevant to the Immigrant Council?s
areas of work;
* Providing support in event management;
* Contribute to the overall work and activities of the Immigrant
Council.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Voluntary experience will be equally considered to paid experience
and/or educational background. We particularly encourage applications
from candidates of migrant or diverse ethnic background.

_ESSENTIAL:_

* Solid knowledge of current immigration, integration and anti-racism
issues in Ireland;
* Experience in working on at least one of the following themes
social justice, human right, migrants' rights, anti-racism;
* Demonstrated interest in key areas of the Immigrant Council's
work;
* Competency in training delivery;
* Excellent written skills but fluent English grammar skills not
required (proofreading support will be provided);
* Excellent interpersonal and intercultural skills;
* Ability to work independently, and to manage time effectively;
* Motivation to show initiative and a desire to learn on an on-going
basis.

_DESIRABLE:_

* Education background in social science, community development,
human rights or any other area relevant to the work of the Immigrant
Council;
* Experience in desk based and action research;
* Knowledge of another language beside English;
