CCSS CLG,?trading as _Toward Healing_,?is a non-government
charitable organisation whose mission is to support survivors of
institutional clerical and religious abuse on the island of Ireland.
Funded by the Catholic Church in Ireland _Toward Healing_ aims to
offer free counselling and other support services, appropriate to the
clients? needs, in a timely manner which are safe, respectful, cost
effective and of the highest quality.

Following a period of review and evaluation the Board of Directors is
developing a new strategic plan for _Towards Healing_?and seeks to
appoint a Director of Services to lead the organisation in its next
phase.

DUTIES AND?RESPONSIBILITIES

1. ORGANISATIONAL LEADERSHIP AND SERVICE DEVELOPMENT

_The new strategic plan for the organisation will ensure that the
organisation fulfils its role of bringing healing to those who have
been abused while in the care of the Catholic Church. The Director of
Services will implement and maintain this strategic plan in the
day-to-day operation of the organisation._

This will include:

* Supporting and leading the staff in their different roles and
functions
* Encouraging staff to deliver to their highest potential
* Facilitating appropriate induction, training and CPD for staff
* Developing annual operational plans
* Monitoring trends within the organisation
* Utilising appropriate Key Performance Indicators

2. REPRESENTING THE ORGANISATION & LIAISING?WITH STAKEHOLDERS

_The Director of Services will act as the liaison and representative
of the __organisation__ with the funding bodies and other external
agencies and organisations._

This will include:

* Developing a clear understanding of the history, purpose and aims
of the organisation
* Ensuring that the organisation is appropriately
publicised/available to clients
* Communicating with funders through annual reports and other
updates
* Keeping abreast of the relevant changes in Charity, GDPR and
Safeguarding legislation and maintaining contacts with relevant
agencies and organisations
* Having an understanding of the evolving nature of trauma
therapy/treatment

3. FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT & REPORTING

* Develop and implement effective governance within the organisation
* Ensure effective financial management is in place
* Maintain open and transparent financial controls, systems, and
reporting mechanisms in line with statutory and board requirements.
* Devise, agree and implement annual budgets with the Board and
monitor these budgets against actual performance, submitting quarterly
forecasts to the Board.
* Define, monitor, and control all budget expenditures to ensure the
organisation operates within the finances available to it.

4. ADMINISTRATION

* Maintain efficient and effective administrative processes
* Ensure staff files and records are maintained securely
* Responsibility for HR function within the organisation
* Ensure oversight and governance of external/out-sourced
counsellors
* Ensure that appropriate internal and client management systems are
in place in relation to communication, record-keeping and
documentation
* Ensure that policies and procedures are in place and are updated
regularly

COMPLIANCE WITH HEALTH AND SAFETY LEGISLATION

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Towards Healing provides counselling and support to those who were
abused as children while in the care of the Catholic Church in
Ireland. The Director of Services will need experience of the nature
of the work, and the impact of that work on staff within the
organisation. We are seeking a person who will have commitment to the
values and ethos of the organisation, who can think creatively and
strategically, who can work effectively as the leader of a team, and
with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

QUALIFICATIONS

* Relevant post-graduate degree (level 9) qualification (social
sciences) or equivalent

EXPERIENCE

* Experience of working in a leadership/managerial role
* Experience in the voluntary/charity sector
* Experience of financial and budgetary control systems and reports

SKILLS

* Leadership
* Communication
* Financial management
* IT skills (including client management systems)
* Ability to drive, process and implement procedural improvements
* Ability to work on own initiative
* Ability to maintain the highest standards of confidentiality,
discretion and respect
