THE GOREY SCHOOL COMPLETION PROGRAMME INVITES APPLICATIONS FOR THE

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL IDEALLY HAVE:
Third level qualification or equivalent in: Education / Social Care/
Management/ Youth Community Work or equivalent discipline.

PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES.

* Excellent communications, interpersonal and team management skills.
* Excellent planning, organisational, networking and report writing
skills as required.
* Excellent administrative skills to include strong financial
acumen.
* Ability to manage complexity and diversity within the service.
* Demonstrate an understanding of the Management role.
* Ability to manage relationships internally and with external
stakeholders relevant to the programme.
* Excellent people interactive skills with adults /young people /
children.
* A knowledge of the causal factors associated with early school
leaving.
* Skills and talents that are transferrable to engage students at
risk of early school leaving.
* Own transport essential with full clean driving licence.

JOB DESCRIPTION.

The School Completion programme, funded by Tusla Education Support
Services (TESS) is an initiative which aims to support children and
young people who are at risk of early school leaving and students of
school going age who are not attending school.

There are seven primary and two post primary schools in the Gorey
School Completion Programme.

The Co-ordinator will work closely with and under the direct guidance
of the Local Management Committee and will report to them on an
ongoing basis regarding the programme progression, finances and
governance to meet the national outcomes of the School Completion
Programme of:

* Improved attendance
* Improved participation
* Improved retention.

The Co-ordinator will attend all staff training provided by TESS to
ensure that he/she has the necessary competencies to achieve the
desired impact and outcomes of the programme.

The Co-ordinator will work collaboratively with SCP staff, schools and
other agencies to provide in-school, out of school, after school and
holiday time supports.

Confidentiality is a key requirement of the successful candidate.

Employment will be subject to Garda Vetting. Salary will commensurate
with the City of Dublin Youth Reach Salary Scale for Co-ordinators.
