ADVOCATE

The Patient Advocacy Service is seeking to recruit 2 Advocates for
Full Time Fixed Term Contracts (End dated **Apply on the website**st

* One Advocate to be based in the South of the County.
* One Advocate to be based in Leinster.

In line with public health advice, the successful candidates will be
required to work from home until October **Apply on the website**.
Where the successful candidate does not have an appropriate space to
work from home other local arrangements can / will be explored.

The position entails travel throughout the country; therefore, the
ability to provide your own transport requirements is necessary for
the post.

The Patient Advocacy Service provides a free and independent service
to support users of public acute hospitals making or intending to make
a formal complaint through the Health Service Executive (HSE)
investigation process "Your Service Your Say", and for Patient Safety
ncidents. The service became operational in October **Apply on the
website** and will expand over the course of the next **Apply on the
website** months. From June **Apply on the website**, the Patient
Advocacy Service will provide advocacy support to users of HSE
Operated Nursing Homes.

The Patient Advocacy Service is provided by the National Advocacy
Service for People with Disabilities (NAS).

REPORTS TO: Advocacy Team Lead

anticipated that new entrants to the National Advocacy Service (NAS)
will be appointed on the 1st point of the scale however, incremental
credit, should it be awarded, will be based on previous relevant
experience as set out on application form).

LOCATION: ?One advocate to be based in South of Country. One Advocate
to be based in Leinster with an office base in Dublin.

HOURS: ?The position is full time **Apply on the website** hours per
week and may involve working some unsocial hours.

THE POSITION ENTAILS TRAVEL; THEREFORE ACCESS TO USE OF A CAR IS A
REQUIREMENT FOR THE POST.

ADVOCATES WILL BE ASKED TO OBTAIN GARDA CLEARANCE BEFORE THEY BEGIN
WORK.

A national panel may be formed of qualified candidates from which
Advocate posts which arise within the next **Apply on the website**
months will be filled, should vacancies arise in this period.
