SUITABLY QUALIFIED TUTOR, 5 HOURS PER WEEK FOR **APPLY ON THE

ROLE

The Dublin 1 & 7 School Completion Programme is seeking candidates for
the role of Tutor to 2 young people (**Apply on the website** year
olds) who are currently out of school. The role will entail the
development and delivery of **Apply on the website**-week programme, 5
hours per week in preparation for the return of the students to
mainstream education.

The role is offered as part of a team-based approach and sessions will
be co-facilitated with a Youth Worker. The tutor will be responsible
for the development and delivery of a curriculum aimed at preparing
the students for returning to education.

Strategies for engagement will include activity based learning and
outdoor education.

CANDIDATE SPECIFICATIONS

The role is suitable to a candidate with a Teaching qualification, who
is registered with the Teaching Council. In certain circumstances,
candidates with appropriate combination of other qualifications and
relevant experience will be considered for shortlisting

IT IS DESIRABLE THAT THE CANDIDATE HAS:

* Experience and/ or a thorough understanding of Youth Work
* Experience with working with young people who are difficult to
engage
* Qualification/ training in counselling, CBT, ABA
* Outdoor education qualification
* Experience in delivering non-formal educational programmes

PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES DESIRABLE IN CANDIDATE:

* Clear communication skills
* Critical thinking skills
* Record keeping skills
* Demonstrable ability to develop and execute lesson plans
* Sense of humour
* Patient and empathetic
* Ability to work collaboratively with other professionals

SALARY

Standard CDETB hourly teaching rate applies
