TWO: 1:1 SUPPORT WORKERS - DAY SERVICES

The MooreHaven Centre was established in **Apply on the website** to
provide day services for people with intellectual disabilities (mild
to moderate) in Tipperary Town and the surrounding areas in Counties
Tipperary and Limerick. These services have grown significantly and
now encompass Day Activation, Supported Work/Employment, Day Services,
Training Programme and Residential Services. The Centre caters for

promote and support independent living and community integration,
personal development and work opportunities for people attending the
Centre. We are currently recruiting for the following TWO One to One
Support Worker positions:

1:1 SUPPORT WORKER ? POST # 1 @ **APPLY ON THE WEBSITE**.5 HOURS PER
WEEK

To provide 1:1 support to a young man who likes sport, especially
hurling, drama and swimming. He likes to be included in chat and
conversation and needs support around managing in group situations. He
can become anxious in transitions and needs support around this, he
likes routine and structure.

1:1 SUPPORT WORKER ? POST # 2 @ **APPLY ON THE WEBSITE** HOURS PER
WEEK

To provide 1:1 support to a young man who likes practical tasks i.e.
woodwork, art, swimming, going to the allotment, gym, dancing and
drama. He likes structure and routine. The support worker for this
young man will need to be familiar with Buccal administration but
training will be offered to the successful candidate.

We are recruiting two 1:1 support workers who will support these young
men in their Day Service Programmes; to become as independent as
possible in daily life-skills, working on individual programmes for
them with a multi-disciplinary approach.

The people appointed to these posts should share these young men?s
interests, be flexible in their approach to service provision & should
have the ability to work as a member of a team. He/she will be
required to take an active part in ensuring that the needs of the
service user(s) are being met. These young men will be involved with
their groups, therefore the 1:1 Support Workers will from time to time
have to assist the instructors with the supervision of other service
users and support them in their class activity. The Support Workers
appointed will be working on their own with support provided by the
Senior Supervisor & Day Services Managers.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

* Leaving certificate.
* Minimum Level 5 QQI Qualification in Health / Social Care or
Equivalent
* Minimum 6 month working in a similar role w/adults with an
intellectual disability.
* A good level of administrative, report writing & IT skills
* A full clean Irish/EU Driving Licence is essential.
* Garda Vetting Clearance.
* Knowledge of New Directions

A strong commitment to caring and an empathetic understanding of those
with an intellectual disability are essential attributes for this
role. The successful candidate will need great people skills, be
flexible and have experience with rapid and complex changing work
environments.
