SERVICE DELIVERY & OPERATIONS MANAGER ? LOUGHREA (GALWAY).

THE ROLE

Hand in Hand, a charity which provides invaluable support to the
children and families of those affected by childhood cancer is seeking
a Service Delivery and Operations Manager to join their operations.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the
charities day to day operations in a hands on capacity both locally
and nationally, ensuring the delivery of high quality support services
to affected families.

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the successful candidate should
have strong coordination and management skills, be highly proactive,
have a self-directed work ethic as well as the ability to work
effectively under pressure or against changing priorities.

THE KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THIS ROLE INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

* Designated person for all aspects of the client referral process,
establishing care planning and service arrangement needs, and
subsequent ongoing relationship management.
* Hands on communication and engagement with key stakeholders as
part of the service delivery process including service providers,
medical, nursing and social work staff, etc.
* Reporting to the Board of Directors as required on the charity
operations, establishing and maintaining key performance indicators as
required in this reporting function in both verbal and written
formats.
* Coordination & reporting of the charities Governance requirements
as required including policy development, regulatory reporting,
financial reporting etc.
* Coordination and management of the charities fundraising efforts,
sometimes in a hands on capacity as required, ensuring a proactive and
sustainable fundraising strategy is in place.
* Management of one direct report, a Fundraising & Development
Officer staff member, ensuring appropriate performance management
practices are in place and they are carrying out duties effectively in
line with agreed responsibilities.
* Completion of all duties & activities of the charity in adherence
to relevant policies & best practice.
* Communication and engagement with state agencies and other
stakeholder groups in the planning and development of national
standards.

THE CHARITY

Hand in hand is a national children?s cancer charity based in the
West of Ireland at offices in Loughrea. We provide tailored care to
families throughout the republic of Ireland affected by childhood
cancer.

THE PERSON

The key skills and qualities for this role include:

* Minimum 3 years? experience within a service management role
* Social Care or other relevant qualification would be advantageous
* Excellent communication and engagement skills
* Effective mediation and crisis management skills & the ability to
manage highly emotive and stressful situations
* Proven ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
* Financial reporting and analytical skills ? e.g. monthly
financial reporting and budget management
* People management skills
* Strong administrative skills and experience of client database
management system
* Significant knowledge and understanding of the issues faced by the
client group
* Significant knowledge of Charity Governance and Regulatory
requirements
* Knowledge of Health and Safety and Data Protection legislation and
other legislative requirements relating to the sector

The successful candidate must be available to work outside regular
working hours when required and must have own car.
