The intern will gain practical experience in the property management and development department in the voluntary housing sector. The intern will receive formal/informal training in the following following areas: property management, building inspections, building repairs, property appraisals and project management. On completion the intern will have attained skills in assessing building repairs, understanding the disciplines in the property industry, negotiation skills, structured appraisal processes and project management skills. They will also gain practical administrative skills including scheduling meetings, organising agendas, taking minutes, report writing, writing repair specifications and following up with phone calls and emails.
Skills Requirements
The person will ideally have a qualification in a property related discipline. Their knowledge should include buildings structure and condition, repair and maintenance of properties, understanding of contractors and construction professionals. The person should have good organisational skills, time management skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
