TRAVEL: The post requires a valid driving licence and the use of a car
for business purposes. Travel Allowance Operates.

JOB STATUS: This position is permanent subject to funding from the
Department of Community & Rural Affairs and a 6-month probationary
period. Whilst Kilkenny Volunteer Centre CLG, will facilitate a PRSA
there are no employer contributions to pension.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

_PLANNING AND IMPLEMENTATION:_

* Establish, develop, and maintain a high-quality Volunteer Centre.
* To manage Kilkenny Volunteer Centre services including Volunteer
Consultancy, Organisation Support, Garda Vetting Service & Training,
Outreach, Advocacy, Marketing, Public Relations and Information
Services.
* To operate a Volunteer Centre in line with KVC policies,
processes, and procedures and to ensure all policies adhere to Irish
law and regulations.
* To lead the implementation of a volunteering strategy for County
Kilkenny
* To identify the emerging needs of the community served by Kilkenny
Volunteer Centre in relation to volunteering and to plan and develop
appropriate service responses.
* Work with internal and external stakeholders to develop and
implement work-plans in line with the strategic plan.
* To plan for the continuous improvement in the work of Kilkenny
Volunteer Centre.
* To carry out qualitative and quantitative market research to
assess the performance of Kilkenny Volunteer Centre.
* Recruit and provide regular support and supervision to staff and
volunteers within Kilkenny Volunteer Centre in line with annual
work-plans to ensure an effective and efficient service.
* Support adherence to national quality standards,
* Provide ongoing training and consultancy services to community
organisations and other key stakeholders as appropriate.
* To engage with and partake in all available relevant training
provided
* Consult and network with community and voluntary groups, keeping
them informed and supported with information on good practice with
respect to all aspects of volunteering
* To network with and engage with the support structures developed
by Volunteer Ireland (VI) as appropriate
* Database and website maintenance
* Organising and facilitating volunteer events and initiatives
* Effectively manage the operational budget and bookkeeping system.
* Identify and pursue funding opportunities and submit funding
proposals to further the goals of the organisation.
* Ensure Kilkenny Volunteer Centre adheres to and meets all required
standards according to the Volunteer Ireland Quality Standards
framework.
* Participate in national Volunteer Centre/Volunteer Ireland working
groups and initiatives to develop the volunteering infrastructure in
Ireland

_MONITORING AND EVALUATION_

* To oversee the management and development of systems for
monitoring, reporting and evaluation.
* To keep accurate and methodical records to ensure effective
Customer Relationship Management and good governance.
* To prepare regular reports for the Board of Kilkenny Volunteer
Centre on all aspects of the Volunteer Centre.
* To attend regular meetings with Volunteer Ireland and Volunteer
Centre staff.
* To contribute to evaluation meetings and reports.

_OTHER_

* To lead on the training programmes for each project including
planning & coordination, preparation of content & materials, delivery
and ongoing support.
* To manage the provision of Garda Vetting application processing.
* To network and build strong relationships with key stakeholders to
further the aims of the organisation.
* Represent Kilkenny Volunteer Centre on relevant fora and to the
public in general
* Other activities as may be necessary for the continued success of
the volunteer centre or as directed by the board of management.

PLACE OF WORK: Kilkenny City and County

HOURS OF WORK: **Apply on the website** hours per week. Out-of-office
hours and weekend work will be required. Time in Lieu system in
operation.

_EXPERIENCE_

* A minimum of 3 years management experience preferably in the
Community Sector
* Experience of volunteering& volunteer management
* Good Working Knowledge of both Kilkenny City and County
* Line Management experience.
* Experience of promoting projects and Project Management
* Financial and budgeting experience
* Planning and Training experience
* Writing successful funding proposals
