Etsy is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join its new
Marketplace Risk team. Marketplace Risk is responsible for creating
tools and automated frameworks our Trust & Safety organization and
agents can use to efficiently monitor and respond to our marketplace
while keeping a sense of community. You will help coordinate our
engineering efforts between the agents that provide front-line
response, security engineering, and the members that expect a reliable
and safe experience.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Combine data from across the organization to build automated controls
to monitor and alert agents on behaviors in the marketplace and take
appropriate actions.

Create systems that generate a comprehensive perspective on buyer and
seller behaviors.
*
Work closely with agents and analysts that actively observe patterns
to rapidly define new automated controls.
*
Leverage a rich data warehouse of metrics and behavior information to
alert and take action on trends of user behaviors.
QUALIFICATIONS
*
You are a skilled engineer with 5 or more years experience of one or
more backend programming languages. We use PHP but are code agnostic
in hiring which means Python, Go, Ruby, Java etc. work.
*
You are customer focused, build with a user in mind and think of
infrastructure and services in product terms.
*
You are a strong communicator and are willing to take on a mentoring
role with teammates and peers.
*
You are a great listener and take the time to understand the needs of
the stakeholders.
*
You write understandable, testable code with an eye towards
maintainability.
*
You enjoy thinking about the implications of your work on end users.
