STUDENT REPRESENTATION COORDINATOR

UL Student Life is the representative body for over **Apply on the
website** students at University of Limerick. The Student
Representation Coordinator is part of the Student Leadership &
Representation Team. The position is full time, core office hours with
a requirement for flexibility to work some unsocial hours as and when
required. Initially there may be a period of remote working due to
Covid **Apply on the website**.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

* Recruitment and management of student representatives i.e. Class
Representatives and Council members
* Developing new effective mechanisms to ensure that the diverse
groupings that form the whole student voice are heard
* Identifying and using social media forums to engage with student
representatives and the wider student body on representative issues
* Facilitating and ensuring UL Student Life organisational records,
meeting agendas and minutes are updated and comply with the
organisation constitution.
* An annual Constitutional review and necessary amendments
* Representation of UL Student Life in a professional manner to
university staff and external organisations
* Growing and developing partnerships across all UL departments to
assist student representatives carry out their responsibilities
* Co-ordinating suitable training for class representatives
including implementation of the National Student Engagement Programme
NStEP
* Organising annual Student Representative Elections, Referendums,
General Meetings and Class Rep Forums
* Supporting the work of the elected Student Officer Team
* Facilitating information sharing with UL staff and other
Students? Unions
* Advising on local, national and international current affairs that
are relevant to students
* Advising on lobbying for student causes
* Membership of the Student Leadership & Representation Working
Group, implementing the Strategic Plan
* General administrative duties, agenda and minute management,
scheduling and attending meetings etc.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

* A third level degree
* Excellent Proficiency in MS office ? Word, Excel, PowerPoint
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Experience of working with students in a third level environment
* Political awareness of Irish and European politics.
* A strong interest in current affairs
* An in-depth knowledge of how Universities and Students? Unions
work
* A proven track record of commitment to equality, diversity,
student representation
* A good understanding of what student representation and leadership
means
* Ability to work flexibly, manage working time effectively,
prioritise projects appropriately and sets realistic timescales

This is a full time position with UL Student Life and will be offered

candidate following the satisfactory completion of a probationary
