Delta Centre are recruiting for Care Assistant in a Day Service
setting to provide holistic, person-centred support, promoting optimum
independence, enhancing the quality of life for service users with
intellectual, physical or sensory disability in all aspects of daily
living.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
* A minimum of a QQI level 5 qualification in Healthcare Support.
or
* An equivalent health care qualification.
and
* Have the personal competence and capacity to properly discharge
the duties of the role.
* Full clean drivers? licence.
SKILLS, COMPETENCIES AND/OR KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
* To contribute to the promotion, creation and maintenance of a
welcoming, caring and supportive environment in the Day Service
setting ensuring a high standard of support and care is delivered.
* To always treat the Day Service users with dignity and respect.
* To be attentive to the physical, intellectual and emotional needs
of the service users.
* To encourage community participation in all aspects of individual
programmes
* To contribute to the provision of a programme of stimulating
activities for all the service users and to assist in developing
recreation activities and hobbies.
* To escort and assist on community outings arranged.
* To implement agreed programmes in liaison with supervisor
* To ensure that all relevant records are maintained to a high
standard
