Indirect Tax Compliance Mgr
A maternity cover contract has opened with our client (a bluechip multinational pharmaceutical company) at thier Cork office. This position is a critical role in the Global Tax Team & is responsible for the following areas:

1) Global Tax ? The individual will be a participant of the EMEA (Europe, Middle East & Africa ) Tax Centre of excellence and will be required to support Global Tax Projects, and Indirect Tax Strategy Development projects

2) Corporation Tax - Act as a point of contact for Corporation Tax between the companies Irish entities and KPMG and ensure Corporation Tax compliance for all of Ireland is completed in a timely manner

3) Trading Partner Operations ? This role is responsible for managing processes for all Trading Partners that ensure VAT, Intrastat returns and EC Sales Lists are completed accurately and submitted in a timely manner for all relevant territories, including managing VAT and Intrastat audits and have an understanding and working knowledge of export procedures and documentation

4) New Business ? this role is accountable for proactively assessing risks and exposures for Trading Partners and all Irish Entities in all indirect tax matters relating to new business initiatives or strategic projects, estimate financial impact and report to Global Tax, Finance Directors and VP Trading Partner Operations (TPO).

5) Other Projects ? this role will also be responsible for co-ordinating and managing any other internal projects which affect the VAT team. The candidate will be responsible for reviewing the project, determining the impact on the day to day activities of the team and determining the appropriate resource and communication required to manage the change.

People Management responsibility
Manage development of at least 10 individuals ? VAT Analysts and VAT Accountants
Review development requirements regularly for direct reports and ensure plan is in place for continuous development of all.
Regularly review and manage performance of all direct reports.
Qualifications & experience
Degree
Qualified Accountant and/or Tax Consultant
Communication and/or Presentation training (desirable)
Driven to succeed and self motivated, calm under pressure
Able to work alone, seeking appropriate input and feedback
Quick to grasp new concepts and ideas
Credible and comfortable dealing with senior management
Good reconciliation and issue resolution skills, accurate
In-depth understanding of operations within a large multinational corporation, mainly Indirect Tax Compliance principles
Responds positively and appropriately to queries from within the company and external contacts
