THE ROLE

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Operating out of a social model of disability you will have
responsibility for the assessment, planning, delivery and evaluation
of the care required to meet the physical, psychological and social
needs of individuals with physical and neurorological disabilities.
Duties include but are not limited to;

* Provide clinical and professional supervision and support to the
nursing and frontline care support teams
* Through strong leadership encourage excellence and promote
evidence based practice
* Have oversight of all clinical records and documentation,
including care plans and the management of clinical risk.
* Engage with external and internal stakeholders such as medical and
allied healthcare professionals and Cheshire Ireland clinical team.
* Actively contribute to ongoing improvements in the quality of care
in line with organisational policy, best practice and regulatory
standards
* As a member of the Senior Management Team support continuous
improvement across all areas of the service and act as designate for
the Service Manager as required.
* Designated Safeguarding Officer and responsible for HIQA
notifications as required.
* Deliver training as relevant to your role and participate in the
development and implementation of policies
* Commitment to your own personal and professional development
* Develops open, honest and respectful relationships with others and
fosters good working relationships within the team
* At all times handles information confidentially and in line with
data protection requirements.

A commitment to the provision of quality services and to the concept
of working in partnership with service users to promote their
independence.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Our ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate;

* In possession of a nursing qualification and registered with An
Bord Altranais
* A minimum of 3years post qualification experience and currently
operating at CNM1 or Senior Staff Nurse Level
* Have line management or significant supervisory experience within
the disability or broad social services field
* Knowledge of and experience in working within HIQA regulatory
framework
* Evidence based decision making skills and experience in the
management and effective delivery of change
* Have experience in the development and delivery of training to
staff
* Have experience in the review and development of policies
* Evidence of personal and professional development
* Excellent computer skills especially in Microsoft Excel and
Outlook, and the ability to adapt to changing technology
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and
written
* In possession of the necessary documentation to work and live in
the Republic of Ireland
* Ability to speak and write English fluently

This role provides care and support to individuals living in a
residential service and you will be required to establish and maintain
relationships with individuals with disabilities that are based on
respect and equality and that promote their independence.? It is
critical that when undertaking your work that you do so in a manner
that is consistent with Cheshire Ireland?s values, operating ethos
